Danyelle24's Journal, 09 Feb 20

On January 20th I signed up for a 6 week fitness challenge at a local kickboxing gym. I am currently just finishing my third week and entering into week 4. The goal of the challenge is to lose 25 lbs . Quite the feat.

I have been on and off of various "diets" in the past, but the thing that I like about this challenge is that it is like I am in a battle with myself, for myself. I had to pay $500 to enter this challenge. I have a bunch of rules I am to follow - like I must attend 3 kickboxing classes a week .

At the end of the challenge if I lose 25lbs I get my money back. This is quite the motivator.

The first week I thought I would crumble at the seams. I could barely walk and I was exhausted. amazing to see the improvements that came by pushing through the obstacles.

Biggest win so far was that by the end of week 2 I had decreased my resting heartbeat by 11 beats per minute.

I checked in at the end of week one down 6 lbs. Another 3.6 at the end of week 2. Tomorrow I check in for my end of week 3 and I am hoping I have kept up the momentum of the first 2 weeks.

I am not weighing myself inbetween as I'm sure I'll just go crazy obsessing over any up or down .

All I need to do are follow the rules I set out for myself and keep pushing .

Week 4 starts tomorrow!

Amazing work! Sounds challenging and rewarding. Make sure you nourish your body well and make notes about which meals you liked especially. Personally, this has helped me implementing a lifestyle change over a long period.
