Beau is curled up asleep on my suitcase, trying to prevent me from packing. I have everything ready to go in, so I'm letting him be.

It's an absolutely gorgeous day here, bright and sunny. I was sitting here filling my pill containers when I looked out the window and saw a bald eagle fly up and land in the tree where our red-tailed hawk usually surveys her domain. I took pictures, going out on the deck while he posed for the camera. Then I heard a hawk's cry; the red-tail was sitting in the next tree challenging the eagle, who just looked at her while I snapped a few pictures. The hawk gave up and flew away.

All the birds are enjoying this day; red-wing blackbirds, dark eyed junkos, chickadees, woodpeckers (one that looks kind of like a flicker), red house finches, bushtits, and more came to visit Beau and me (for the sunflower seeds and peanuts, I'm sure), as well as a squirrel or two.

I had a great Zumba class this morning, then my physical therapist helped work out the tightness and pelvic rotation, and showed me more stretches to do on vacation. I enjoyed my favorite kale chips with lunch, and am almost finished packing. I need to go clean Beau's upstairs water fountain and have it ready to fill with cool clean water when we get back.

I lost another tenth of a pound today, lol. Cool, since I'll most likely gain a few pounds on vacation. I'll just be back here taking it back off; see if there's a "lose your vacation pounds" challenge for me, ha ha!

I should probably eat dinner, give me energy for the final push. We have to leave the house by 7 am. Life is good, my friends, life is good!
