velvetee's Journal, 22 Jun 19

So I'm trying to be honest with myself. Been going through a major depressive moment for the past couple months. Tons of shit to handle. Trying to eat normally but it's hard, I feel nauseated for the most part. But I guess I am getting better because it's my first feminine dress... that I ordered online of course (anxiety in crowded places, food is the only thing I don't buy online actually). And it's not black!! I mostly wear black/pants, it's my uniform. Buying a colourful feminine dress is really something! I feel weird and share this here as part of my therapy. I am preparing myself, will I get to leave my house wearing this ? Does anyone else here struggle with autism/depression/anxiety? Especially females? How do you deal with it?

@Chris, eating out is usually my craziest adventure... And I am f*cking 40 next year! I truly can be a charm when I want but boy I feel like a thousand of vampires drained me out of my blood after that.

I agree with the positives about the dress - lovely! And with Davidsprincess: HE was being "inappropriate." Anxiety and autism is a daunting combination. I'm similar in situations where I know no one -- anxious, very uncomfortable, and prefer being alone to large groups. The social barriers with autism are very difficult to overcome.

@DP it's different here, in Europe, regarding harassment. I've been working with British/American people and my bf is American. They all just HALLUCINATE. And you fucking can't say shit. Besides, I'm paid 20% less than my male "counterparts". And I have 3 degrees and speak 3 languages.

Ginsin, is black an exclusively NYC thing? I've been 99% since forever.. mom calls me "black widow". I'm trying to wreck my usual routine!

@Jc, I did take pills last year and very quickly felt they started to eat my brains in and out. I dropped cold turkey (yes I am a crazy one) and now trying to handle everything on my own. I don't want to test anything else because... uncertainty.

You do look lovely. Wish I looked half as good. What pisses me off is the unequal pay for doing the same job. I wish I had some good advise. But don't let it get you down. You are as good as or better than your "make counterparts."

Just going through life's ups and downs can bring on many emotions. But, I simply keep moving forward to fulfill my goals and dreams. Hope you do the same - and hey! That dress looks beautiful on you.

you look very beautiful! I to have problem with wearing different things. I'm so use to just a tee shirt and blue jeans its hard to wear anything new. it makes me feel uncomfortable.

Hahaha...based on your probation review and comment to your boss...I might have autism too j/k. It is challenging as a woman in the workplace sometimes...especially if you are a practical, independent, intovert!

@60pack I try to be healthy for the most part. But sometimes I don’t get to eat at all and then I eat poop 💩

The way to help “fix” the issue is by getting out there. You look gorgeous 💕

I do not have autism, but I suffer from Major Depressive Disorder and anxiety. I get extremely anxious in crowds like when shopping and around new people. Like you, I can fake it in social situations, but it is exhausting. I am on medication for the depression and it helps with the anxiety. I also see a therapist on a regular basis and that has greatly improved my ability to deal with my anxiety. I still prefer to stay home and watch a movie rather than to go out on the weekend and fight the crowds. I am starting a new job on July 1st that will allow me to work out of the home. I am so excited. It is full-time with benefits and I don't have to fight traffic or go to an office everyday. Maybe you could look for a job where you could work from home? What type of work do you do? You look beautiful in the dress and I hope things get easier for you.
