@Bella...Ketchup and butter on saltine crackers hahahahaha…. that's what we ate in elementary school when we couldn't pay the electric bill. The best crackers I'd ever had. Fried bologna and egg is good! @Dboza...YES!!! I especially love any chip on any fish sandwich like tuna fish. I do that religiously.

@Court - yeah? College for me. I'd save up the ketchup packets and make soup, lol.

Cottage cheese is good with pepper... Similar to cream cheese in the sense you can go sweet or salty or whatever. Sometimes mix it with my yogurt. I have eaten a sleeve of saltines with butter and a diet coke for dinner before... And then I joined fs. Lol. Never had them with ketchup. But I do love saltines. Only 13 calories each. I eat them almost daily.

LOL - I ate so much ramen in college... I can barely stand it now.

I have upgraded my ramen to spicy Korean noodle bowls - especially when eaten with bulgogi buns

Hot Cheetos on bagels with cream cheese are pretty tasty. Uh oh, the carbs making you fat myth spreaders are making their appearance. Took a little bit.

OMG @Diablo...that sounds genius. Never had it but it actually sounds good!

There's not too much that isn't fantastic on bagels with cream cheese. My fav is the standard onion & tomato. Hot cheetos on the side.

@cann, we are lucky. I tend to gain weight, even at a deficit, when I eat too much fat. 🤷‍♀️ All different I suppose. I’d sure like to be able to eat an all carb/fat diet for about a week and still keep my muscle and maintain my weight lol.

Sorry Chris, you cant get away from me that easily! I used to add salt. My stepdad added pepper to his and I never liked it. Decided I’d try it after SOMEONE on here told me salt would make me retain water so who is to blame for the pepper? Now who exactly was that man who told me that... it’ll come to me soon...

We had fried spam YUCK. Stuff wasn’t cheap either but not expensive. Growing up in a singe parent household meant creative food options like y’all said lol. Mom made fried bologna, sandwiches with lays chips inside with the ham and what’s now known as shit on a shingle.... bread covered in sausage gravy, easy worth he sausage 😉. Who knew a poor mans diet would become popular lol. There are even tons of ‘hashes’ now. Lots of ‘dump’ meals. Back then it was just another way to put hotdogs into a meal without eating hotdogs on bread again lol. I still make similar meals but use things like sausages. Still prefer the cheap generic biscuits too! Well, I actually prefer homemade, but that takes a lot of work. Sounds like we all had similar foods growing up. Dad loved butter on crackers and could make a snack/meal of it. He ate it with beans usually and I skipped the beans.

I just made a sandwich and chips and cottage cheese with pepper and didn't think anything of it. Diablo said I should have taken a picture for Chris with the pepper because I was eating it on a plastic princess plate. LOL. I didn't even notice. My favorite plates to use are the ones the kids used when they were toddlers that we still have around. I prefer plastic over glass... needless to say we don't have many fancy dinner parties. 😁

Lol. I prefer paper so I don’t have to wash dishes. It’s hubby’s job, but when his mind is busy with other things, like now, I get the job. Our dishwasher tends to melt plastic. Even warps some of the thinner stuff on the top shelf. We also don’t have dinner parties lol. When we do have family or friends over then I use the ‘china’. Every few years I dig out my great grandma’s actual china and serve dinner on that for just the kids and I. If a guest broke those dishes I’d probably break them lol. They are a bit fragile I imagine because Grandma would’ve been 106 last April. Not sure if these were from when she married or when their house burned down back in the 50’s. Either way they are at least 60 years old and could be 80ish.
