Been gone more than a year. Really struggled with unexplained weight gain since 2016, and had started gaining again to a shocking degree. Finally had a doctor's appt in early Nov -- no hormone imbalances that could explain the problem. I expected to get chewed out for being on a low carb diet, but the doc shocked me: "It's the best diet you could possibly have," she said. Then she shocked me again by recommending intermittent fasting as a way to turn things around.

I did not like this advice.

But I read the book she recommended (The Obesity Code, by Jason Fung), and finally gave it a try. Starting in late Nov '18, I have been limiting my eating to the hours of 11 am to 7 pm. At first, I didn't see much change -- though the weight gain finally stopped (I had gotten up to 225 in 7 months. That's why I stopped recording my weight -- I was too upset and embarrassed.)

Gradually, I finally started losing -- very, very slowly -- like a half a pound a month.

But things really started turning around in April '19 when I decided to also fast between meals -- no snacks (though I do allow myself a cup of coffee when the kids eat breakfast, and sometimes another in mid-afternoon).

And in the past two months, I've finally started seeing a significant change!

I'm hoping that I'm finally figuring this out. I've long-since learned what to eat, and now I'm learning that *when* I eat also matters. Maybe I'll be back in "one-derland" soon ... it's been waaaaaay too long!!!
