Well, it looks like I lied to everyone; I didn't accomplish anything this weekend. The snot machine is still working overtime, and the coughing has me begging for an hour's sleep two or three times over the course of the night. Good news is that some of my coworkers stopped coughing, and DW just last night seemed to go the whole night without coughing. Judging from the experience of others around me, I figure I've got about another week of this crap. We both got the flu shot and the pneumonia shot, and they say the shot makes it less severe if you do get the flu. I dread thinking what it would have been like then, if we hadn't gotten the shot. I really am looking forward to getting back into running and strength training, but I'm not chancing it until I get over this stuff.
Looks like we are going to have another crazy winter; supposed to be in the 50's Friday, and then the rains come for a few days. Well, if we can't have snow, at least the rain will do us some good. Last year, the drought was severe, and we are already down 10" in snow from where we should be. I never thought I'd be begging for snow in Illinois, but when you don't get it, it throws everything out of kilter.
My Redskins lost! But, they won NFC East division for the 1st time since 1999. I know most of you guys probably don't care about football, but they are probably the only thing I have left of my home state. Even though I'm from Virginia, and they play in Maryland, and are called the Washington Redskins, they were still my home team.
Luckily, I'm not experiencing much food cravings during the course of this flu thing. It's about the only good thing about it though. I'm not losing much weight - probably because of the inactivity, but I am actually starting to see a slight decline. I'll post my weight when I when I convince myself it's not self-deprecating to do so. I'll be back in the game soon; I'm sure of it. I'm just a little sluggish on all fronts right now because of this bug.
Wishing everyone a great day! Toodles.
