I am a 53 year old woman who finished treatment for breast cancer last May....and what a ride! Not only did I go through the losing hair and feeling crappy....but it came with weight gain from the treatments and steroids....just totally unreasonable! To top it off chemo put me into menopause and they added tamoxifen (hormone blocker for estrogen positive cancer) which has become the full trifecta for weight gain and so tough to lose! Anyway I found this site to help me keep track and it is working. I’ve been admiring the honesty that I have seen in some of your posts and reiterated that it is okay to be fallible sometimes.

Hi Lisa, you are a very brave woman. Good luck with your treatment and weight loss. I am same age as you and it sucks when it comes to losing weight when at menopause, but patience and perseverance does work. My hardest time is when I am stressed, so I try to keep cool. I love this site which I find has a better database of foods from Canada and keeping track it helps a lot. Have a good day and take care.

Thanks ladies! Have no doubt I rocked my cancer treatment but wasn’t quite prepared for the very long lasting effects. And seriously...if you have to go through treatment and losing your hair etc.....we should at least get skinny..right? My docs laughed when I said a bad word when they mentioned the potential weight gain. But it is doable!!!!!
