Hi Dawn.. I am Joani and I have come to realized at 67 that I too am a sugar addict. It feels so good to stop putting it in my body. It is unbelievable how many commercial food products add HFC. I loved the beer commercial at the Suoer Bowl, even though they caught flak for it from the corn growers. I was addicted to my nightly glass of Merlot, too... not thinking of its correlation to sugar. When my 40 something sister-in-law was dying from metasized cancer, her oncologist pointed how how sugar feeds cancer. Good to know. Love the play on words: Crashtest Dannie!

That looks delicious! I too realized that I allow food to control me, mostly to help my mood. I'm working on being mindful of my emotions and the triggers and finding alternative ways to deal with stress other than Ben & Jerry's.

I suggest put it in front of you and when you think about eating it go look in the mirror/look at an old picture and try to tell ur self overeating is worth it. Look in the mirror/ at an old picture and try to say food is better than feeling n looking your best. Overeating is not worth it. Nothing taste better than looking and feeling your best. Take all control away from food. You don’t have to hid it, you control the food 💪🏼

When you take all power away from food you will never have to hide anything. You will stuff your lunch bag with all kinds of food n you will only eat what you have decided to eat.

Wouldn’t that be nice to carry around a bunch of snack food and not eat it unless I was actually hungry! I’m not there yet BUT I will be there one day. Hopefully sooner than later!

I agree CTD...that was one of the reasons I fell in love with fasting was because I didn’t want food to have power over me. But it wasn’t just food it was drinking. I know at the end of the day it’s all about how you feel and how you perceive yourself. I know for me I’m not going to be happy until both the scale and my body feels and looks the way I want it to. I’m almost there. I wish I could just say hey one drink and I’m good. Most of the time I can but often not. So it’s best just to stay away all together like the sugar. I’m trying to master the skill—it’s just been so difficult 😭😭😭

To be honest alcohol affects our judgment n it’s not even good for us

i still Drink, yesterday I had 3 drinks...but I always modify my alcohol intake to be calorie friendly

Usually I stick with 1-3 drinks...but I know that if I would not have little ones I would definitely drink more

GOrtegam it is really hard! And when I fast, I feel very in control and it feels great! I basically stopped going out all together. I’ve never had a dependency to alcohol but with my friends, it’s all about drinks And food. Which doesn’t mix well for me. It’s better to go with out it. I’m sure both of our livers thank us 😊🙌 And Rosio I feel your pain. I have a teenager now so I get free babysitting 😈😈😈

Oh for sure. It’s not usually worth it for me to drink. I try to occasionally have one (like you typically 1-3) and call of a night. I’m sure our livers do thank us CTD!! Ya drinking and eating are the worst mix.
