Sandy701's Journal, 27 Nov 12

Rainy day, so no outdoor walking for me. I haven't yet decided what I'll do instead, but it will be either an XBox thing or Stairmaster time. Then, it will be on to doing some Christmas decorating!!!!!

The tree's up, but naked (no lights or ornaments). We switched to LEDs this year, as our old sets were ancient. Our outdoor lights had been around since the mid-80's! The more I read, the more I began to think they were fires just waiting to happen. So, all the really old stuff got turned in for recycling. We've got a few older "regular" light strings left, but eventually, they'll be changed out too. They're not from the mid-80's but still many years old.

For the holiday, I didn't do too badly. I confirmed that:

1.) I do better if I log my foods,
2.) I do better if I log BEFORE I eat,
3.) I can still eat too many calories, even doing low-carb, and
4.) Low-carb trigger foods are still triggers, even during the holidays.

I'm not happy with holiday weight gain, but surprisingly, I feel comfortable in knowing that I can go back to what works for me and get things moving in the right direction. No, it's not a panicked move back to Induction, as some might do. You won't find me not eating for 2 days or spending those days exercising 'til I drop at the gym. It's not a race to see how fast I can get back in line....although I will be monitoring things closely. It will be just a reasonable course correction, working WITH my body, not trying to punish it and beat it into submission! LOL! This is NOT the end of the world, just something that happens and will probably happen again from time to time. I just have to make the corrections and be sure that I'm not getting into some kind of wild yo-yo routine. This is life in Maintenance. No biggie, right???? LOL!

RIGHT about all of it! We have come to the same conclusion, so we must be right in thinking, this holiday UP-swing to the scale is pretty normal & most folks must go thru the same. Who can eat like that & NOT have the same result. So, back at it we go. PS, glad you have your tree up!

Had to take advantage of DH when he was "willing" to help me with it! I was over reading your journal after I finished mine and, you're right, wow! we're very much on the same page! Now who can argue with 2 superminds that think alike???!!!

You are so right and as much as we don't like to see it I think it is better to face it head on and then forge ahead. It will happen...whether we are in the process of working on our goals or have reached them. Great attitude. I have a naked tree too!!! We bought new lights this year and I need about two more boxes...guess I will be out picking those up today.

Hey there Sandy. It's so nice to hear you are still going strong. I've drowned and am not happy about it. I just can't seem to find my way back to much of anything. Hold on to your strength and have wonderful holidays. :)

Not so glad to hear you're drowning, but you know there are dozens of life rafts and buoys around here for you to grab hold of. One day at a time, dontcha know... Hang in there.
