Sandy701's Journal, 14 Nov 12

3.1 miles walked this morning. Still cool but the wind had died down and it was cloudy. Doggies very happy to go the full mileage with me.

Thrift shop detail this afternoon. We're actually expanding the building and this afternoon, the old back wall came down and we were "joined" to the new space....rather exciting! I'm not sure exactly what the plans call for, but I'd say we've added about 25% to the existing space. Can hardly wait to see how we fill it up!

The scale is coming down nicely and I'm officially back into my "Maint. range," so that's good. What I just can't figure out, however, is why the following are all happening at the same time.....weight coming down, calories are higher, I'm decidedly hungrier, yet my fat grams are also higher..... All these factors occurring together just doesn't make any sense to me unless it's because my carbs are staying somewhat lower??....so perhaps I could eat even more and be OK????? Just don't know....'tis a puzzlement.

Tomorrow, I need to groom my Lab gal to be sure she's presentable for her vet appointment on Friday afternoon; just the usual check-up and shots. Friday morning, I have a church commitment and Saturday morning, I'll be back working on Thanksgiving baskets. When the individuals come to pick up the baskets, they're also interviewed to get the information for the Angel Tree Christmas gifts. As one of many, I'll be helping to fill out the various Angel ornaments to put on the trees for people to select and shop for.

Great job on your walks and maintenance, Sandy. Interesting about more calories and more weightloss. Maybe you've found the right formula. Can't believe how ready everyone is for Christmas. God bless you all. Have a great day.

So sorry I missed this yesterday - even though I have nothing intelligent to add to solve your puzzlement. But would love to add the obvious - if it works keep on doing it!

Heather, it really is a puzzler. 1400-ish worked just great all the way from 235 on down into the 150's, but then it seemed that I needed to drop about another 100 calories to get any movement. So that's where I finished up the journey. Now, however, it almost seems like I can go to about 1400, or at least further into the 1300's, as long as I stay away from my triggers....peanuts, peanut butter, whipped cream in a can, etc. What's surprising to me is that I'm hungry with more fat in my diet....that typically is not what's supposed to happen! Stay warm!

Bren, I AM happy to be back in range. I'd just like my range to be 140-145 and not 145-150, but there's nothing I can do about that until I get myself below 145. Nothing special about those numbers....it's just all a psychological thing. Enjoy your Thursday and don't wear off all of Oreo's fur with all that petting! :)

Buffy, I didn't post until late on Wednesday, so you didn't miss anything earlier. This would be a whole lot simpler if "what works" stayed the same! Obviously, there's some minute detail somewhere that I'm missing.

Sandy, glad the doggies got the miles on their paws too. Sure sounds like a hustle & bustle at your house. Now, about those pesky numbers...I got nuthin, no clue, zippo, zilch! I pray you figure it out. Sometimes I think the body just does what it darn well feels like, when it feels like it...regardless! That being said, the closer we get to our goal/ideal weight, the less margin for error there is. When "dialed-in" that tight @ 1300-1400 calorie range, it may take not much at all to send the scale one direction, or the other. A little retained water can make a big difference. Bottom line is, you need to be happy with the balance between desired weight range & liveable/sustainable calorie/carb range, & only you can make the best choice for you!
