Sandy701's Journal, 13 Nov 12

Walked 3.1 miles with both doggies in the sunny, blustery morning! Wore 4 layers and the wind still got through....even through the tops of my sneakers!

Thank you to Bren, Buffy, GG, and Jaime who gave me some encouragement on yesterday's journal. I read the entries late last night and they definitely lifted my spirits that were still lagging. Thank you, thank you.

I thought yesterday's foods were better (and my interim scale weight reflected it) but then realized that I somehow missed the eggs I had for breakfast! When I added those in, the caloric number went into the mid-1400's. Oh well, nothing to do about that now. Unfortunately, I was hungry most of yesterday. It's not like I'm about to die of starvation or anything, so I just plodded on through the feelings. I'm sure the feelings were due to NOT having any of the trigger foods I've been having lately.

Today is another at-home day. I'll probably wish I had more of these in the next few weeks, but for now, I wish I had an outing somewhere....for some thing or other. I have more than enough work to do here, but I generally do better, food-wise and attitude-wise, if I have a "to-do" that takes me out of the house for a bit.

Today, I'm thankful for:

* FS buddies who uplift my spirits,
* household heat on a cold day,
* the fun and activities of the upcoming holiday season, and
* DH's work on getting the first installment of leaves off the backyard before it rained.

I love that you are doing better today. I doubt those few eggs hurt you too badly - you'll recover quickly. And of course there you are out in the cool conditions burning up the pavement! If I remember your schedule from last year you'd better rest while you can. December is a full month of "outings" for you.

So glad your doing better..hey at least the eggs were protein instead of carb city...stuff..It must be chilly if your having to bundle up... I try to get out every day..even if its to go to the P.O...We can't have a mail box out here...people will steal your mail or beat the dickens out of it..one year there was a whole line of boxes demolished by some teenagers going nuts...or just being mean...Stay warm...:O)

Today IS a better day, Buffy. At least I missed "eggs" and not something else! Like everyone else, the schedule gets fuller and fuller in these next few weeks. Even the end of this week has 2 complete mornings blocked out for volunteering over and above Wednesday afternoon. DH will have to walk the dogs on Saturday and the doggies will probably go walk-less on Friday, unless I can talk myself into going after I get home. Hard to believe I'm already setting up my home gift wrap station!

You seem to be in better spirits today & that is good! What is it that makes us want the opposite? If I have too much to do, I can feel overwhelmed & then I yearn for idle free time. If nothing is clamoring for my attention, I can feel adrift, with no purpose. Sometimes I just need a little chocolate, as low carb as I can get it.

Bren, my blood has thinned down here so that while Midwest folks might still wear shorts in this weather, I'm bundled up like it's below freezing! It's the only way I get to wear some nice sweaters, jackets, fleece, and long pants. I understand about the mailboxes....too bad it has to be that way. Hope you've got some sunshine....let me know if you need any extra! :)

GG....that's what I have to be careful of....feeling adrift, at the same time I'm feeling overwhelmed with things to do! I do better with structure....a schedule....as long as it's not TOO overcrowded. I don't ask much, do I? LOL!
