Yes, that was me, along with the vast Packer Nation, groaning at the end of Monday Night Football last night. No, it was NOT simultaneous possession on the last play of the game....MD Jennings (Packers)had it first. In any event, this year's automatic review of every scoring play SHOULD have determined that the Seahawk player did not "maintain" possession to the ground....as HE NEVER HAD FULL POSSESSION, PERIOD!!!

It is what it is and the Packers will have to deal with it. But talk about a blown call, not only from the replacement refs on the field, but also from the regular replay official applying the wrong rule (simultaneous possession). AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

As for the non-football part of my days lately, walking has been typical and regular....over 3 miles each day, Sundays off. Today was MUCH cooler, so the doggies were along for 2.4 miles of the 3.1 I walked.

I've run across a few nutritional tidbits lately on foods. Just like in politics, it's all about the way you spin the information. I understand marketing and trying to sell product, but trying to fool the public into thinking a food is this great, wonderful, healthy product, is borderline unethical, IMO.

Take my favorite Planters peanuts (Extra Large Virginia Peanuts) for instance. There's a prominent heart on the front label that says: Heart Healthy - May reduce the risk of heart disease. Then, in very fine print so tiny you can barely read it near the bottom of the container is this pertinent information (emphasis added):

Scientific evidence SUGGESTS but DOES NOT PROVE that getting 1.5 ounces per day of MOST nuts, such as peanuts, as PART OF a diet LOW in fat and cholesterol and NOT RESULTING IN INCREASED CALORIC INTAKE, MAY reduce the risk of heart disease. See nutrition information for fat content (1.5 oz. is about 51 pieces).

I was there with you yelling at my TV as if the refs could hear me and what I was saying was going to make a difference. A blind person could have seen that Jennings intercepted that ball!!! I couldn't believe after the play was reviewed the touchdown ruling was upheld. WHAT?!?!?

Sorry about those replacement refs. Could be an interesting season. BTW - on the peanut butter label - because we know that there are people out there who will eat the whole jar in one sitting and think they are doing something good for themselves. Like the comedian says - "There is no cure for Stupid".

You know it's really bad when even the announcers and studio pundits get quiet, stunned, not knowing exactly how to say that this is going down as one of THE worst calls in NFL history! Finally, they all seemed to gather the courage to say what they were all thinking - absolutely the wrong call and it cost the Packers the game. And we won't even go into what the playoff implications could be down the road, when 1 game, won or lost, can make a huge difference! Let's hope Sunday's game goes a bit smoother.

You're right Buffy. As for the NFL season, if so many blown calls continue to occur, what will the playoffs mean, anyway? Teams will be in the mix that shouldn't be and vice versa.

Yeah its the small print that you really have to read..but you have to get a magnifying glass to do so...Sorry the new refs suck at their job..You'll never know who really wins if that keeps up...Try to not eat the whole can of nuts...I know they are very tasty...:O)

Nuts...the theme for the refs & the people who decide what to put on the labels. There is no cure for stupid & it isn't illegal either...go figure!

Bren, I was lucky in that there was only a very small amount of nuts left in that can.....left over from months ago when I could FINALLY exercise a bit of control over the darn things!

GG....If stupid were illegal, we surely wouldn't have enough jails!
