moogiemynes's Journal, 11 Nov 18

My dad would not want his picture on the Internet, so I found a stock photo of his generation. My dad served under Patton and was captured in France. By the end of the war, he had lost so much weight, (and hair), that his mother literally did not know him, and refused to let him into her house. People think he has male pattern baldness, but pictures show that he has had the exact same chrome dome since 1945. Yes, he is still alive, and we're taking him out for steak today.

Other family members also served, including my brother, my sister, my husband, and many of my extended family. My daughter and I were not able serve for medical reasons. She may reenlist at a later date, but my condition was permanent.

Happy Veteran's Day to all who served!
