Feeling pretty darn good today. I enjoyed my chicken nacho without the shell and got over my allergic reaction by time I got up this morning. I had some leftover steak fat from that steak and chicken. Had another bout but much less. I don't quite understand yet what is up, but I will hazard a guess that somehow this one steak has more histamine to it then the rest of the pack.

I lost my recent gain and back down to normal. it was not enough calories to make me gain a couple of pounds and I did not drop enough calories to lose actual fat pounds so got to be water retention.

My calves really feel good. no night craps my feet are not trying to cramp lately either. I think I found the long standing issue. It is not just magnesium, it is mainly the calcium supplement I have been using I was not able to absorb it. this is the problem with calcium suppliments so little actually get absorbed in different forms. Calcium Citrate-Malate is the form used in a study that actually worked for improving the participates. there was another supplement used in the study and bad results. so I am happy I invested in it. shopping today so I will also be looking for chicken with bones to add to my diet.

all in all good day. I find I feel so much better when I don't eat, so I will be eating lite in the morning and burn the rest of the day until I am hungry enough to eat. Going to take a break from sticking my fingers. todays readings 3.6 k 4.8 glucose fasting,,,,2.4 k and 4.1 glucose 1 1/2 hour after my morning snack,,3.3K and 4.5g 6+ hours after earlier snack and exercise.

thank you Nikeit yes it is a relief to get one thing figured out especially when it is so important. it will take time to heal the rest but this making such a difference over the long run will hopefully improve the rest. that and careful eating

That’s good that the I’ll affects of the nacho didn’t last too long. Have you thought about doing OMAD since you feel better when you don’t eat?

I'm getting weird glucose results lately. After exercise I am always higher, even with no food. However, because I have consumed so may carbs lately I am always starting in the 90s (4.8 on your scale). In my normal week I am in the 80s (4.4 on your scale). Then my glucose reading usually goes down after exercise...

normally goes down and not doing that now?? from my understanding the exercise can cause the system to release energy to fuel your work out. I think that is a good thing when you are loaded with carbs. burning them up. if you did not have carbs and were fat adapted the system would release the only fuel you have left to fuel the workout or run. and yes it can fatigue you until you are fully fat adapted. Your body has to learn to use it. this is why runners who are adapting to keto plan for several weeks to months to fully adapt before a big race. it is always about choices. Chris has done workouts both ways. His being super fast metabolism I am always surprised by the huge amount of calories he has to consume to maintain his weight and fuel building ability. You are in the beginning stages and are fortunate you can build without this massive intake most days when I eat my glucose stays stable and my ketones go down. time and exercise drives my ketones up and my glucose down, then last meal when they are super low in glucose and high in ketones they balance again. I don't know the correct glucose for me but I seem to feel better if I am in the 4 range if my ketones get really high and glucose low in the 3's I don't feel good. I generally eat, maybe if I didn't I would see more fat loss. still trying to figure this out but needed a break.

yes Crash I have debated it and on some days it works out similar to that. frequently my glucose is very low in the morning those are the mornings I don't feel great and when I have a small meal I can go most of the day.

I should say Adef when I eat light after a low reading I stabilize my glucose and the ketones drop a little, when I eat big I do drop the ketones a lot more down to even 1.2 or 1.5 and my glucose rises to the 4.9, over time these change to normal for me levels, in the mid 2's for ketones and mid to low 4 for glucose. I am comfortable in the 4 to 4.6 range not that I feel badly higher, I just know I overate. LOL! I wonder how the readings would change if I loaded up on carbs! I know when I ate a pint of ice cream I was feeling no pain and was buzzing with a sugar high.

@baskington - If you 'carb up' you may see results like mine. Normally I am NOT 'carbed up' and plan to return that way by Tuesday :)

but here is the thing Adef, I just want to rebuild my body tone in my whole body and be a lean mean machine. I don't want to "body build" I know my ideal. I don't have to work like a demon to build a muscular frame, that is just not for me. Do you know your long term goal?? is it just to be buff or do you want to go all out and look like the body builders?? I am sure you can do that as you seem to have the body type that takes to the training. And the dedicated mind set to get the job done. I have thought long and hard on this and body building is just not what I look for. Weight lifting and resistance work yes. Endurance build I guess is my goal. I don't know the right terms. My daughter in law is very buff she is going further than I would be comfortable with. But her work outs are to be able to compete in jet ski racing. She needs the muscle. In fact she just won the world title in jetski racing for the womens class. She normally competes against the men for the regional races (does very well)but for the world class competition they had enough entries for women class

@baskington - I am definitely going for the 'big body look'. I 'think' the only difference between that and 'lean and strong' is that I need to 'lift heavy' where a 'lean and strong' person just needs to be able to lift a 'reasonable weight' for a 'lot of reps'. I could be wrong... Either way, the glucose reactions to the exercise 'should' be the same... again, admitting I-don't-know :)

and her diet is not carb loaded. she does eat healthy carbs and a balanced healthy diet. lots of lean meat you can look at her facebook page. Sophie Francis at the rate she is working out she may end up in the body building classification. they drag huge semi tires for a fun work out day to take a break from the weight lifting.

and nothing wrong with that Adef you have plenty of folks here to help guide you on that path. the guys have been working on successful programs for themselves and willing to share. I can't answer the glucose reactions either, I am still learning, but the body loaded up with calories whether they are fat or carbs will release some of that stored energy fuel when the body needs it for energy. workouts and muscle repair after those workouts need the fuel. that release is most likely the reason temporarily the glucose rises. in 3 hours I would imagine it is dropping again. do you have the same reaction when you are not carbed up and only moderately fueled with 900 to 1000 calories from your liquid fast on your second workout of the 3 a week?? Maybe testing multiple times on workout days with different feeding schedules will help provide an answer. low carb low calorie day readings and high carb day readings. 1 hour, 3 hour and 5 hour.

@baskington - I do have a different reaction when I have my normal <1k calories and <20 carbs a day. This week I plan to do the 'fat bombs' so we will see how that affects my blood glucose levels...

I don't think it is a bad thing adef, just action and reaction to an abundance of fuel you overloaded on the binge. If you changed how you fueled up to a balanced meal with lots of protein and healthy complex carbs in moderation, instead of a carb binge I think you would find your workouts very productive and less damaging to the weight loss goal. Glucose would drop faster, probably halfway inbetween lower calorie fuel days and binge days. Is that important?? I don't know but it seems we can quickly drop the fuel reading down on moderate days I know that part (the uncontrollable binge) always stresses you out. I think you will eventually find a pattern of eating that will work best for you.
