this is interesting, I did some resistance work 40 minutes worth. my glucose reading went up to 5.3, I have not eaten since 6am this morning. I did not take my keytone reading as those are much more expensive. I want to do a fasting on both tomarrow morning and spot check during the day. So this can be my body releasing fat into my body from not eating and working out?? non diabetic reading. Don't want to confuse anyone

My glucose reading will also go up with exercise, but, for me, it will then fall wayyy faster than when I have a 'spike' from food. I -think- my body is like: "I will create 'just enough' glucose to handle the 'task at hand' but no more!" :)

Hope you figure it out - I have no idea about that stuff so I won't offer a suggestion ;)

ha! we have a few that have a bit of experience with these meters and I can always ask later on the carnivore site. I am just learning to use this tool. I forgot I had a coffee and that could have raised my reading too. I will have to remember that.

Is that how it goes? Mine is usually 4.2 (86) to 4.8. As of late (before vacay it was just barely 80). I though your bs drops when you are working out. 🤔🤔🤔

@CrashtestDawnie - My blood sugar will basically fall after exercise, but, if I am 'fasted' and it is low it will rise during exercise then fall quickly. If I am not 'fasted' and it is high, then exercise will cause it to fall.

I know when we are fat adapted the body can dump a bunch of fat into the system to provide energy in that complicated system I can't explain scientifically but vaguely understand. But the glucose can also go up if you have something you are sensitive to. I forgot I had the coffee and cream and sweetener so that could be a factor. I will have to figure times to check when I don't have something I am not supposed to. tomarrow I will try to track properly. fasting readings and then after I eat about an hour I will take another reading so I have some kind of baseline for myself. my after breakfast reading was 4.7 about 3 hours after eating 600+grams of steak. 3 hours after that I had the coffee, then 4 hours later from breakfast I exercised for 40 minutes, it was resistance which does not burn much (total gym) when I do the heavy work it is twice as much calories as I have heavier weight, still learning at lower levels on the total gym.

Ahh very interesting. Strange how our bodies react.

The liver will pump out extra glucose when the brain says, "Hey, the human is exercising, send some sugar this way." Since the brain doesn't know how long or hard you are going to exercise sometimes you receive too much or too little. That's the reason your blood sugar went up after exercise. Next time it could go down. For diabetics this phenomena can be dangerous. As a diabetic I have to check my blood glucose levels before, during, AND after to be safe. Non diabetics bodies usually handle it within an hour and are at normal levels.
