Fatboy199's Journal, 02 Sep 18

Happy Sunday folks,
I have been on my journey since March 18th of this year when I started my path to better health and a better quality of life.

Today, I find myself still captivated by this journey and ultimately...full success is expected.
My progress has somewhat slowed but I have not fallen backwards. To me, that smells like success and what really has me excited is that my daily walk includes being mindfulness of foods, calories and consuming for need instead of want!
Sure I still love food but I am getting better at eating when I am hungry and not just to fill time.
My goal is to be 190lbs. I started this journey at 308lbs and it may take me multiple years to accomplish this goal but trust me, having seen others on Fatsecret do this before me, I too will ultimately succeed.

The one piece of advise I can give to those who are doubtful of their journey, I say remember why you started. Remember all the frustrations, limitations and opportunities lost due to your physical limitations...not to mention the pain and misery of being overweight.
My habits were horrible, my eating habits were worse and what I have come to realize is my respect for myself, my body and my life just wasn't there.
Let's not even mention my lack of respect for my wife, family and job.

Sure, I have hit a wall at this time but that's ok, my body has plateaued but in due time I will once again move forward with further success.
What I have found to be the most satisfying thing about this journey is the satisfaction you get from waking up with clothing that fits more comfortably, to eat with the mindset of eating to satisfy instead of gorging at each meal and being content when eating small portions of foods that at one time would be unwanted or rejected because I was greedy or selfish and I was too good to eat them like a spoiled child.

I love the contributions of everyone who shares their own journey on this page but I find I cannot give or share a daily offering. But I do enjoy and respect the other great folks here on the same path to a healthier life as I. Please keep sharing because we may not know each other but we are still family. Our struggles entwine us and makes us as one.

Good luck to all as we move forward into Fall and may each of us find our path to greatness.

Yours truly,
Fatboy
