So... yoga after cardio today. First let me say yoga is NOT my thing. Positive thoughts! Swoosh the air out of your lungs! Feel the stretch. Well only my hips felt the stretch but I have stretches I do at home that work as well without feeling out of place lol.

Got the kids from their areas and sent them to play and looked around for our trainer. Coast was clear so I jumped on the machines and took hubbys advice. 3x3 except I did 3x5. Started where I was comfortable, moved up 5-10# each set. Superset I guess as I do all three of each machine before moving on if nobody is waiting. If I could do 10 I went up 10#, if I was hard to do 5 I stayed the same and added 10-15 for the last set and stopped at 3. I have no idea if that helped or hurt but I felt like I used my muscles more today! Then realized I was right in front of the trainers office when I finished up. I totally didn’t look to see if she was there and saw me lol.

BUT the best part of the workout... listening to this guy hit on a chick haha. Girl was well hit. Nice muscles, seemed to know her stuff, cute clothes and even messy hair was cute. The guy accidentally started for the same machine then kind of followed her around giving her completiments lol. Toward the end it was ‘oh come on show me those abs! ‘ she refused but played it off well. I can tell she gets hit on a lot at the gym. Even better was the poor man was moderately built but no real muscle definition or anything and he was acting all strong and macho for her lol. I’m super glad I’m not as fit as she. When I get there I’ll take hubby along with me. It didn’t phase her but it would’ve created me out a bit.

Ha! yoga is a bit too relaxing for me too. I know it is good for stretching, but I am too hyper since my weight loss to handle slow well.

I commented that I wanted a nap after. We ended the session with laying on our backs completely relaxed. Our lovely trainer said she’s always energized after. Nope not me. I just wanted her to hand me a pillow and blanket ;). I don’t like change and new things put me way out of my comfort zone. Just signing up and going at first was a challenge. I feel that I’m always doing things wrong. Not so much in this program. However yoga didn’t give me the benefits I’ve read about other than relaxation. Not energized, didn’t feel like a workout of any kind and only my hips got a good stretching. Did learn that I need more work on my thighs as they were shaking through some of it and I couldn’t bend as far as I should have in one pose. BUT some of the stretches I do at home were quite similar ;).

stretching is important I do agree I have several stretching moves too and try to do most of them daily. the calf one I have to do multiple times a day. the rest help loosen me up which helps me when I go to work out.

I have a lot of tension. Mainly in my neck and shoulders but I’ve noticed an increase everywhere lately. I need to be better about doing stretches as I only do them a few times a week not including at the gym. Should set a schedule I guess lol.
