So do i need to eat more than a whole avocado to make up my 1000 calories a day?

Honestly just stay below your Maint calories. What you eat isn't the most important part. LCHF works best because FAT is a hunger suppressor. Carbs CAUSE hunger. Fasting helps lower insulin. Insulin not only triggers FAT storage but it triggers hunger. So fasting drives insulin DOWN and lepton levels UP. Lepton drives hunger DOWN. That's why we fast. to control calories and to control Insulin. It really is amazing how well it works together.

well even for a weight of 145, the maintenace calories are about 1800 calories i do believe.. so now i am confused about the avocado. i thought eating one is one of the best ways to get good fat into my system

Tina, what calculator are you using to determine your BMR and macros?

That is a great loss - and you are losing consistently. Be proud!

Avocado is mostly fat and fiber, it may bump a running total carb count up a bit, but it will barely impact your net carbs.

Deb, i still have to do research i guess i need to on the BMR and macros bcause i am not sure. I know what the BMR is but still not really sure about macros. I also just pulled my measurements for the week...and in total i only lost 3.5 inches...none in my waist though....i am starting to get bummed out..i's sorry

WTG on the loss by the way, the reason I ask is FS's calculator tells me I need to eat 2100 calories to maintain my current weight.....Hello? I think it runs in "SAFE" mode. I use the keto calculator at ruled.me, I took an idea from one of my buddies and did the calculator for the weight I want to be and chose maintaince for that body weight. That's where I got 1466. If I am currently eating what is required to maintain a 160 pound female with a BMI of 25% then eventually that is how much I will weigh. Ruled.me is actually a very good website for explaining and breaking down LCHF and IF into understandable steps. Ignore the parts where they try to get their fingers into your pockets :). It's a lot of information, most of it is contrary to what we have always been told and taught about nutrition. Learn everything you can, apply what you learned to your own eating and exercise habits and create a plan that feels right and fits your needs. Don't worry about being exact, stress makes you fat, if you worry about doing it perfectly you are gonna OD on cortisol because you are human and we don't do anything perfectly. You tweak it....the tweak causes a weight increase, change it. Trial and error till you find your groove, the foods that work for you and eliminate the ones that don't. You got this, you are on the right track, keep it rolling baby!

My waist has been stubborn too - but take heart because bodies will continue to change shape even when weight is stable.

Seriously? Apologizing LOL Stop that! Three inches is great honey you have to start somewhere! Shrinkage is shrinkage, even if it's just your ankles...do you know how excited I was when I could actually see my ankle bone...over the moon!

August 29, 2015 I started my diet. I stuck to eating a slice of whole wheat bread with 2 tsp of peanut butter and a cup of black coffee for breakfast. A chicken salad with 2 leaves of cabbage, an ounce of spinach, 4 or 5 baby carrots, 4 heads of broccoli, 8-9 olives, 8-9 slices of jalapeños, 4 baby tomatoes, 3 peppers cut up, and a 4oz cup of 100% grape juice for lunch. Less than 1/2 cup rice, 3 ounces of beans (your choice), and chicken(drumsticks depending on size, 2 ea), or chicken breast, and either grape juice or water. Snacks throughout the day, apples, oranges, bananas, grapes, strawberries, carrots. Some mornings I would eat raisin bran cereal, or oatmeal. One day on the weekend I would maybe eat Wendy's, or Chinese. And I also drank 8-12 cups of water (8oz) throughout the day, cold preferable. I lost 25lbs. Now I also did cardio for about 45 minutes, followed by a weight training exercise.

This is what amazes me right now, I have been on LOTS of diets over the years, I have never, ever...maybe when I was 12? had a 35 inch waist, most of my weight loss this time around has been from my middle. I started with a 46 inch waist, now it's 35 the inches have been much slower coming off of my thighs and hips, I started with 32 inch thighs. 32 inches of thigh........that is an average 25 year old females waist size...geeze.
