I called my great-granddaughter last night to wish her a happy 15th birthday (she lives in Alaska, as do my other three great-grandchildren). She asked how old I am, and when I told her I'm 80, she said she used to have no idea people could live to be that old. 😂 I'm just impressed that I can be that old & still know my name!!! Happy Thursday my friends! 💚💜💛

As always, you’re so hilarious! My doctor was 80 and I loved her so much and she was still working, but they sold her buildings. So she hunted for a new office, but they all wanted five years or more on a contract, she wasn’t sure if she could do five more years. Hell, she could’ve easily done 10 more years!! Miss her!! You really lighten my life!!! Dang, and I’m the older grandma, so I don’t want to be asked that question!🙃

"Old" keeps moving north. I remember thinking my 28 year old dad was old. When my mother died at 52, I thought that was old enough. Now, at 62, 80 doesn't seem old. 70 seems young, and 95 seems like a reasonable goal. I hope you have had the pleasure of visiting your family in AK. I'm an annual tourist to the state. It's so beautiful in summer.

Lady, I have visited Alaska many times, my son has lived in Fairbanks for over 30 years. I used to go every year. Of all the places I've traveled, it is the most beautiful. Lucky you!

Kids say the darnedest things! 😆 I turned 47 a couple of weeks ago. My 6 yr old grandson asked how old I was. I said, "Almost half of a hundred." He said, "That means you're gonna die!" 👀😬😆 You are an awesome 80, Shir!!! 👌🖖

I used to think that my mom was old when I was growing up but when she passed away on Thanksgiving day at the age of 41, I realized that she was still very young and now that I'm 45 and I don't look at it like that anymore so when you are 70 your just starting to get order and at 80 you have gotten older but now 90-95 your definitely old but I would look at it like a long happy life of memories.. so you shirfluer have gotten older but not old yet sweetie..

Sara, I am blessed to have many happy memories to look back on, and I'm still making more. Like all the lovely people here on FS.

I meant at 70 your just starting to get older not order.. dang typos 😂😂 this reminds me of the time my neice asked for a cell phone for Christmas and I was telling her that back when I was growing up we didn't have cell phones and we had to use old rotary phones and then we got a phone we had connected to the wall and we had to call boys and wait for him to get to the phone and there was no call waiting and texting, and that I remember when the cell phone first came out. later on I took her to a Dr appointment and then the nurse was asking me my d. o. b. and Stuff when my neice blurts out my aunt Sara was born before they invented the telephone.. LoL 😆😆 one of my favorite memories of her... we all laughed so hard ... she used to tell everyone I was born before they invented the telephone...

That's so funny! When we're young, we can't imagine ever being old. By the time she's your age, telephones will probably be implanted in their brains.
