So this diet is really a loose garment - I actually started a low carb diet in 2016 to loose weight and get back in shape. My health team revised it as I need the carbs (in reason) to manage my blood glucose levels. I do pay attention to fats, calories and protein. the thing to remember is that I burned out all my body fat as my pancreas failed so I am actually trying to get a little weight back on. I work out and I am in pretty good shape so I intend to keep that going as long as humanly possible.
