I know weight fluctuates...but ugh. I have a party to go to this afternoon and it is going to be sooo hard to stay on track. The party is at my SIL's house, and my BIL is a chef, so I KNOW she will have lots of goodies. I made it through the baby shower a couple of weeks ago. I ate right before I left and there were items on my list I could have, and not a lot of temptations, so it was fairly easy. Today will be a challenge, especially with the way I have been feeling the last couple of days (dreary weather = BAD MOOD!!)
I know it is all up to me, and if I do choose to stray, I will have to face the consequences. Self-accountability. Responsibility. NO ONE else is in charge of what I do or do not put in my body. Oh well, it will be what it will be.

Two suggestions that may help you today---1.) Some nutritionists suggest eating a small meal with a mix of lean proteins and complex carbs before going to an event. They say it will curb your appetite. (It sounds like you did that before your baby shower.) However, I go with suggestion 2, which is 2.) Don't put your focus on the food at the party, put the focus on the reason you are there--to see family. Listen to your body, eat when you're hungry and stop when you're done. And most importantly, don't verbally beat yourself up if you do stray...jump right back on track and clean up your eating tomorrow to compensate for any extra calories you may have today. You're right in saying you're the only one in charge of what you do--now throw in some positive attitude and you're good to go! Good Luck! :)

It sounds like your on the right track. When you go to the party, peruse the food. The things that you have all the time skip, take smaller samples of things that look the most enticing. Go up just once. Get in some exercise this morning. You can still enjoy yourself and not gain. Have an apple or piece of fruit or maybe protein before you go so your not starving. Good luck! This time of year is filled with celebrations.

Thanks for the support!!! I have to say though...the opponent in this fight (food, temptation) just took a sucker punch!!! I finally decided to get dressed for the day...and lying in the closet was a pair of jeans I just told my BF last night would have to wait a while to be worn...said to myself, oh what the hell... THEY FIT!!!! OMG!!! ANOTHER PANT SIZE!!!!! I hate my scale (I was up just a tad this am) but am addicted to weighing everyday. I think I am going to have my BF hide it and only get it out for me once a week...on Mondays. OH LOOK!! The sun is shining!!!! OK world...watch out!!! I may not have won the lottery last night, but my mood couldn't be any better if I had!!!!!!! HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYBODY!!!!!! :)
