Sandy701's Journal, 14 Mar 12

Walked 3.2 miles this morning in the warm sunshine....doggies along for 1.5 miles.

This morning, in one of our friend's yards, I saw a ROOSTER!!! Wow! He was a fine specimen, all colorful and full in his plumage. I suspect he sauntered on over from a stable that's out on the highway, but it backs up to that part of the subdivision. He might even be the one that's SO vocal, even well after sunup. I remember after having moved here that I was very glad we hadn't purchased a home over in that part of the neighborhood, as we would be awakened VERY early, EVERY single day! Whenever I walk over in that area, even mid-morning, you can hear him.

Yesterday was a hungry day. Ate my salad at about 3:30 because I was getting really hungry. Didn't quite do it, so I ate steak at about 5. STILL hungry, so I cooked some fresh beans and ate a solid cup of those at about 6. Waited and was STILL hungry, so ate a bit more meat and another cup of beans shortly after 7. FINALLY seemed like the hunger was under control.

The hunger, plus my intra-day weighings being rather high the last couple days, have me puzzled. It may be just one of those things, but it "almost" feels like I did prior to me cutting my carbs back....although I will say my carbs have been slightly higher these last couple days, but with all good things.

LOL those Roosters can be loud..I think the ones near here have a crowing contest..one will crow and the other one or ones will try to crow louder..I really hate those hungry days..nothing you eat fixes the problem..I usually don't know what it is I am wanting..so I eat to make up for it..You only have ten more to go..so it will be harder to get that last bit off..or so I have heard...Don't smack me..LOL..Have a great evening...Oh how's your DH's eyes doing??..hope he is doing well..:O)

Hey Sandy. I also have those days from time to time. I find if I add olive oil, cream cheese or butter, it keeps the hunger at bay. At least you're eating the good food when your hungry. YAHOO!!!! Hope you had a wonderful day.:)

No Bren....not smacking you. So far I can definitely attest to the fact that these last 10 are extra, extra sticky!!! Or maybe it's because I think "I got this" and am not trying as hard???? DH's eyes are improving but he's going to need cataract surgery on the one they did the more intesive surgery on. It was to be expected as an actual side-effect of the surgery he had. When that will happen is unknown, but it may be sometime this summer after the eye is fully healed from the surgery and the gas bubble has been absorbed. Have a great night.

Hi Laurie. I wish there were some rhyme or reason to the hunger issue, but it just seems to happen. Taubes would say that if one's metabolism is firing correctly and carbs are under control, then one doesn't experience hunger.....ah, yeah, right. Oh well, at least today seems more normal. I'll keep your suggestions in mind. Hope you're having a nice early spring day up there.

Sandy, I wish I had answers for you, but I don't, & seem to suffer through the same issues too. The last final 10 for me used to be only 6 to go, but have turned into a solid 12...disgusting, really! But, I think you have hit on the reason...that "thinking we got this part"? I am thinking my numbers have been creeping up & up & up, both carbs, calories &, small wonder, the scale too! Sometimes I wonder if I REALLY am afraid of getting there because then the journey will be over? Goofy thinking, but I still wonder. The body is a curious thing, the mind even more so! LOL about your rooster, at least you don't have to listen to crowing contests. Hope hubby heals quickly!

GG, if only we had the answers. I was at 7 to go and went on up to 16 to go. Now, I'm back at 10, thanks to seriously cutting down on carbs. It helped me get from 16 down to 10, but now the magic seems to have left me (although I'm wondering if melon might not be as neutral as I had previously thought...). I also wonder if there's something about not wanting to end this journey, as ridiculous as that seems! Let's hope we both get this figured out...my house is filling up with cyber confetti, just waiting for you to "finish!!"
