Jintygirl's Journal, 09 Jan 17

Blimey, it's been an up and down opening week...

By Thursday, I was over 3000 calories over (leftover Xmas booze, being the main culprit), but was absolutely determined to be able to click 100% followed at the end of the week, so worked my bits off, walking over twenty miles over three days, to get back on track. This worked so well, I managed by yesterday to have saved up enough calories to have a little of the same everyone else was having for roast dinner on top of the healthier bits I was having anyway - and even a tiny amount of pudding.

Unfortunately by serving time, I felt so ill (I'd been feeling mildly sick all day), I couldn't face eating any of it. So from over 3000 over, I ended the week nearly 1000 calories under... lol...

So this should be a happy post, but I am REALLY bothered by something a friend said when I mentioned this amusing bit of dieting arithmetic last night, as he ate a plateful of roast dinner I'd cooked. He said, "You should zero it."

Well, no, I f*ckin' shouldn't, actually. Because then I won't be able to eat last night's dinner tonight, because I won't have the spare calories. Also, I don't want to be going under on a regular basis, or it'll muck up my metabolic rate and I'll end up on 600 calories a day to lose the last half stone (I admitted this is unlikely first week in - actually there's evidence that an extra low calorie opening fortnight gives you a good kick-start), but really? I've got about 100 lbs to lose. If I 'zero it', I'll likely get to target weight a day or two earlier... it's going to take a bloody year!! What difference is two days going to make???

Besides which, it's my birthday on Thursday. Having a few extra calories available for the odd glass of bubbly or bit of cake, makes me very happy.

But basically, friend (and I didn't say this), HAVE YOU EVER SUCCESSFULLY DIETED AWAY SIX AND A HALF STONE??? Because I bloody have. Until you've successfully slimmed (and I wouldn't dream of telling him he 'should' lose a couple of stone - none of my business), don't tell me what I 'should' be doing... he stays at mine regularly, as he's homeless, so he has to be aware that I'm dieting, but I HATE telling people I'm dieting (other than my boyfriend and my daughter and outside of Fatsecret), because everyone's a ruddy expert, eh???

Lol... rant over...

I've ranted away being bothered (thank you for listening to my rant, if you did... lol) ... and will get on with my dieting week, including the 976 calories I saved from yesterday... :) :) :)

Good luck this week, fellow slimmers... xx

Rant away "zero it"? May be being a bit thick but what do you mean?

He meant, forget that I've saved 976 calories and start the week as normal with no spare calories... why?? He's actually sitting behind me as I type this, but I'm not arguing with him again, now I've had my rant on here... ha ha... xx

Don't forget to add on some saved calories for the fuming and ranting, it is a great calorie burner.

Oh right, so he thinks you shouldn`t carry forward "spare" calories? Got it.
