I have held my own this week.

I am somewhat pleased in that there was a great deal of eating in restaurants. This is because I am spending so much time in town working at my father-in-law's house. I will be doing at his house regularly for the next months. I need to think about alternatives to eating out this weekend while I am home.

I am not pleased because I am not making progress. I can't view success merely to not be gaining despite some high calorie choices!

I had ice cream once this week. I think that is generally reasonable however I have also been eating a date square with my lunch so that is adding up to more than one special treat a week!

The highlights this week include signing up a new renter, moving forward on the rental renovations which should be completed in 10 days, visiting with my friend on her 70th birthday and making progress on my father in law's home.

It is sounding like you may need to prepare ahead of time... I do my weekly food prep in one day, then portion it into freezer bags. I have seen some that use Rubbermaid type serving dishes, with separate compartments, and stack them in the freezer. Then it is there ready for action, so I can deal with daily stuff, and not have to try to make a meal... just heat and serve... or sometimes just room temp for me is fine. Today I will be doing Extra lean ground beef patties in the oven, cooked weight 85g, and boil 8 eggs... I will be on the lookout for a cheap beef roast, and I will lo and slo roast that, then shave it, portion it out @50g/serving... then bagged and into the freezer for quick access. For an active person on the go, like you are, this might be a good strategy... using your own food choices of course. I am on a LCHF/keto diet, so I adjust accordingly. Good luck on all your projects!

Adiposemann- you have an excellent suggestion! I used to do that more with my suppers and have gotten out of the habit of late. When I was working I did that with my lunches. Clearly, I need to go at it again for my days in town especially when I know they will be many. Thank you for the reminder! I do find it useful when people share what they are doing for food. I like the idea of the portioned out beef roast in particular. I have used my poacher to cook eggs ahead of time so then I don't need to peel them.
