Teddy, our Yorkie has been an early alarm clock these days. He insists it's time to rise & shine....which wouldn't be so bad, but it means I have to weigh in earlier. It doesn't leave as much time between my last meal & in time. Since we eat dinner lateish & I have dessert afterwards....😏 Oh, well it is what it is.

Those extra calories may have been good, though. I had more energy than I have had in awhile for my workout today. Doing very little besides relaxing yesterday may have helped, too. Hubby was back at it with me today. His back was twinging a bit, so we decided to take time for a soak in the hot tub afterwards.

We picked up some vitamins & frozen fruit for our smoothies on the way home. I made our Protein shakes & watched the final episode of Sweet Magnolias when we got home. The dogs have had dinner & I'm taking a short break outside before cooking ours. I have chicken soaking in salt water (makes it more tender).

I notice when one of our members asks about joining the Gym, they often get suggestions about working out at home. I know those are valid, but it makes me think about why I think this "Disliker of planned exercise girl" was converted. There is something about the ritual of having designated Gym days & leaving home to exercise that works for me. Having my morning routine of coffee, breakfast, a few chores...then getting dressed in workout clothes, putting my hair in a ponytail, packing my midworkout snack, filling my water bottle & driving to the Gym motivates me. Setting foot in the Gym surrounded by like-minded people....all there to achieve a goal....gets me pumped up. Once there, there is no question that I will do my best to complete my routine. I tried exercising at home & even though I did keep it up all Summer a couple of years ago, as soon as the weather got cooler (I was exercising outside), I quit. So, for some people, yes...joining a Gym is exactly right for you 😁 Maybe, if I had a designated Gym in my home, I might continue to be motivated. Maybe....

I have a fully equipped gym at home. And, after starting and stopping self workouts over the last 35 years. I now have a gym membership and I only attend workout classes with a trainer. I never miss class without a good reason. I need a class setting to give my best and stay motivated. Even when I travel, I do a short-term membership where ever I go. It is one of my healthy habits that I just can't do without.
