Good Morning my loves!
I'm back! Did you miss me? It's okay if you didn't, I still missed you! LOL!
FYI- This is kinda long (read: it's long) and not totally about food....read on if you'd like to or scroll on <3 I love you either way! :)
We had such a beautiful time. We did bible study together every morning after breakfast and at night before dinner. The kids each lead 2 and Big Man and I each lead. They are so smart and so loving. It was really amazing to hear them speak on the verses and chapters we read. We've decided to keep it going here at home. We go to church regularly and are involved and we pray together as a family morning and night and over meals, but sitting down in the Word together isn't something we've done since I homeschooled Lil Big Man and Lil Miss the first full year of Covid.
We went on exploratory walks and fishing...The boys caught some nibbles, but mostly we just caught on rocks! Ha! We got in the car and left the campsite to do some cruising, too. Such beautiful scenery in the Wenatchee National Forest. Lil Big Man was super excited about the near full skeletons we found, Lil Miss was not.
Food was normal campfire food: burgers, hot dogs, s'mores....Last 2 nights we had steak and potatoes! We ran out of bug spray the last full day, and of course we all got bit before we made it to a store for more. I have one smack dab in the middle of my forehead! Ugh. But! It was beautiful, we had a great time, we had our own little access to the river and spent a lot of time there.
No food tracking because no cell service, but Big Man said camp calories don't count. Who am I to gainsay an army medic/PTA with a Bachelors in Nutritional Science? LMBO! And I still lost some, too! So, yay me!
We did have a blip on the way home; Big Man and Lil Man were driving ahead of us when he pulled over quickly to the side. He lost his breaks and had to use his emergency break. Turned out the piston broke on the rear end. 2 hours waiting on Washington State Department of Transportation to go to where there was cell service and come back to let us know if help was on the way. It wasn't. Found that one sweet spot where as long as you don't move or breath you have one bar on your phone and was able to get through to a friend. God was definitely with us. Unloaded the camp stuff from my car and Big Man and Lil Man got in with Lil Miss and I in Mr. Blueberry and we headed home after leaving a note on the Silver Bullet that we'd come back. We were 107 miles from home. Big Man and a friend got a dolly attached to their truck and they went back and brought Silver Bullet back home safely!
I hope you enjoy some pictures!
