Hello Pagan. I've lost weight quite quickly this week too, this is my first week, and I've seen that a slower weight loss is better. Truth be told I've been happy with a much lower calorie consumption and I'm actually eating much healthier. Would you be able to tell me why a slower weight loss is better? Thanks.

Hi,
One reason is that rapid weight loss can mean that more muscle mass is lost than if the weight loss is gradual; thus lowering the rate at which it burns calories.
Lean muscle burns more cals at rest. I have upped my cals a little to slow it down.

Thanks for your help Pagan, I'll consider this on my weight loss journey.

M' Lord I think slower weight loss is considered more sustainable long term but if you're just starting out I wouldn't worry too much as it's often quicker in the beginning anyway, especially if you've made some big changes
