well thats better. Plan on lifting again tomorrow-lower body this time. I had enough of maintaining a high weight and watching the trend climb all school year. Once we buy lettuce again, i want to try to bring in my own lunches (chicken and salad is my plan) I understand Head Starts point of view but the food is harming my health. Im breaking out, headaches after school, lethargic and its just not good. The cook is allowed to bring in and eat outside food but i cant? Yet she recommended i could at beginning of school year IF i didn't wanna eat their food. On top of that, she recommended to bring in outside food for my older son, who goes to "big" school so he isnt eating headstart food. Suddenly, i bring in a replacement cereal instead of eating 70cals of kix...and thats a big no-no, im not allowed to do that. "its not fair to everyone else" i looked her dead in the eye "im willing to share this, its healthier anyway" she scoffed at me, muttered something and walked away. My fear of angering others has prevented me for standing up for myself, i need a more DILLIGAF attitude here.

Sounds like a prison cafeteria!!😳 Hope you get things in order there. So I know the GAF part but I’m going to have to look up the other letters. 😆 Good going on the loss, too!

I'm a retired R.N. don't see how they can legally force people to eat things that are not on their diet or don't want. I would get an excuse from my doctor. Why is the school cook running this place?

Your last sentence really rings true for just about everyone. We can always politely decline food: "No thank you, but I appreciate the offer." When friends and family try to push their food on me, I go a different direction: "No thank you, but I would love some coffee/tea/water if you have it." -- so that the friend or relative still feels like a good host.

Weird. If you’re an employee year, it shouldn’t matter if you bring in outside food.
