I’m a clinical massage therapist. LOL. I can give some helpful tips to feel better. Of course without palpating muscles and hearing more information it’s hard to pinpoint what is going on. But some stretches in certain muscles help shoulder pain. Often where you feel it is not where the pain is so this advice is based on the general assumption that you sit at a desk. In many people, rounded forward falling shoulders and too much sitting makes the muscles of the front of your body tighter and shorter. This makes your postural muscles along the spine and muscles attached to your shoulder blades (there are 18 attached) lengthened, weak and angry. You feel these more than the more important shortened muscles. Google stretches for: pec major, pec minor, subscapularis, lats, teres minor, QL, Psoas, illiacus. Stretch your quads and hamstrings too. This is the next best thing to getting a massage. Because these are the same muscles I would be working on. And a bunch more but then we’re talking essay here and it’s already a wall of text. Haha. Saw this comment and wanted to randomly drop in and try to help. Good luck!

You are so nice to leave a word of advice!!! I will check out those stretches. I think it was a combination of stress with inability to relax my muscles. Probably mostly that desk hunch you mentioned but I’ve been doing a lot of elbow planking, too. I’m feeling a lot better after the weekend and am going to use my standing desk every other hour this week. Thanks again for the pointers!
