Nikina70's Journal, 17 Mar 23

Google Fit stopped tracking again this week for no reason. I really need to upgrade my phone or get some kind of fitbit-like device. But, calories have been pretty good so far this week and I might end up close to 1800 daily average. Last week was over 1900 again, but I'll keep chipping away at it.

Intermittent fasting has helped with that and it's becoming easier not to snack in the evenings after work so I'm hoping that will continue to be the case.

No plans this weekend, but if the weather changes we'll try to get out a bit. We'll take a walk in to town this morning for my favourite ciabatta from Sainsbury's to have with soup for lunch. Hope they're in stock!

Last Sunday we had a really nice couple of hours exploring Kedleston Hall. We both love it when the staff or volunteers are so engaging and enthusiastic. Always makes it more interesting listening to their stories or explanations. Must be so boring for them having to say the same thing all day though so we appreciate a little chat with most of them.

The weather wasn't great so not many steps that day, but we'll wait for a good day to do a walk to and around the estate gardens sometime soon.

Hope you're all doing well and taking those steps towards your goals. I feel like my goal is in sight again and I can't wait for that blue line to appear. Not sure when resistance training will become part of the picture again, but you guys will be the first to know.

Have a great weekend all! xxx

My treat bread is seeded soda bread from the co-op. I don't have it often but it is divine with melted chilli cheese.

Sounds divine, Anne! They didn't have my favourite at Sainsbury's so opted for a Kalamata Olive Sourdough from Co-op instead. Didn't see a seeded soda bread there :( - sounds great, but hubby doesn't usually like seed bread so I get one only very occasionally.

Do you mean without the fitbit Chess? Thank you for the vote of confidence.

Sorry Nikina didn't check I meant you are doing so well without aids you have such dedication

Kalamata sounds like a worthy substitute. The seeded soda sells out quickly but sometimes, if you are lucky, you can find one hiding in amongst the normal soda bread!

Aah, thank you Chess!

Good tip, thanks Anne! I'll keep a lookout for it. We have a very small coop nearby, but actually about 4 in total within a good walking distance so I'll remember that when I pop in to the bigger ones too.

I get the chilli cheese slices there too and they do a nice bottle of cava. Disclaimer: not recommending this, just saying lol

Cool Anne!😊💕 I like a bit of the sparkly stuff every now and then, but real champers tends to give me a major headache so I haven't really tried cava yet. I had a favourite sparkling wine in south africa that I loved though so I should give cava a try sometime - will probably go for a rose if I do. 👍

I'm using a Fitbit Charge 4. It connects with FatSecret. It updates both without any input from me. Congratulations on getting your blue line badge 💙 👏
