JW4444's Journal, 12 Jan 15

Ugh. Not surprising as I had a lot of sodium over the weekend and didn't get in all my running miles this week.
59.0 kg Lost so far: 7.6 kg.    Still to go: 5.4 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.
Gaining 0.4 kg a Week

I am older and I talk to my friends who are older. We believe not only will the intensity of our workouts continue to slowly decline but also we are more prone to injury. Our conclusion is our weight must be controlled with eating regimen and exercise is only a bonus. If your weight is so tired to exercise you may want to reexamine your eating. Said another way, should you damage an ACL and no running for six weeks do you necessarily have to gain weight? Just a thought.

Drink lots of water, pee lots of sodium. Your happy thought for the day.

StoicGrace, see my bio. IC, would you like to be in a reality show? That is a serious question. After your HUNG giraffe story, I started thinking about this. I know people. Prominent reality producers who could be open to a pitch. This is what I see: a camera installed in your van, chronicling your life on your weekly route. You always have new stories. And you're hilarious. I should email you about this directly. I know I still owe you a reply. Getting there.

No idea what you are talking about.

You asked about eating habits, which are discussed in my bio: "I'm Julie. I'm an LA-based freelance journalist. I'm working on being leaner because it bugs me that my RHR is in the 40s (almost pro athlete levels) but I was on the high end of healthy range for my height (5'7"). Because I run and my body is used to it, it takes a good amount of mileage + calorie counting to lose weight. Specifically, 1500 calories/day, run at least 20 miles a week, 4 miles at a time, and Pilates at least two days a week, preferably three. It takes a lot of shopping and meal planning because I'm vegan and gluten-free. Ironically, eating almost vegan paleo kept my weight high, because nuts are one of my only protein sources (newly allergic to all legumes including soy). Fortunately, once I'm at goal I know maintenance will not be an issue because I run, commute to work most days on my bike, and will always be vegan."

Now I see what confused you. I should have done two separate replies, like this:

IC [Instant Crazy, who also responded here], would you like to be in a reality show? That is a serious question. After your HUNG giraffe story, I started thinking about this. I know people. Prominent reality producers who could be open to a pitch. This is what I see: a camera installed in your van, chronicling your life on your weekly route. You always have new stories. Ok, this was my thinking when I read that. What?? I'm such a boring person most of the time. Maybe this show would just be on public access. Oh god the whole world would see my double chin. Maybe she just said that to help motivate me to lose weight. Do they do reality shows on radio? Oh man would that mean I wouldn't be able to fart while I was driving. Yes, I actually thought that.

This is exactly what I mean. Really, and truly, I am interested in pitching a reality show starring you. Would you consider it? [I am addressing IC and not StoicGrace.]

I will say a tentative yes? only because I'm curious. OBVIOUSLY there are about a million and ten details to go over. That and I'm looking at you sideways through squinted eyes when I'm saying this yes maybe one eyebrow raised. I am interested how you would pitch my life just based on the me you see here.

I'm not sure yet, but I'm going to think about it. I wouldn't do it until probably mid-February, after I get through some other work stuff.
