Nikina70's Journal, 10 Mar 23

Happy with this weight even though it's taking ages to get back to pre-Xmas weight. And historically that has usually been the case, but at least this year I feel like I'm starting to make some progress again. Last year I only really lost some weight in the last quarter of the year.

Not enough steps this week, but calories have been fairly good. Last week my daily average was just below 2000 cals so if I can end on just under 1900 this week I'll be happy. Then on to 1800 and beyond...

I will try to keep going lower as and when. I know ideally 1680 calories would give the best results, but I'm just not able to hit that right now and I think it's better to be realistic than to just give up totally. I would also like maintenance calories to be higher than that so hoping to not lower them too much if possible.

I have 10 weeks starting on Monday until I see family again so have drawn myself a nice chart and I'm tracking IF on week days as well - so far so good. If I can hit my target weight in these next ten weeks I'll be really chuffed.

Just ignoring the fact that easter is smack bang in the middle of it though, but I'll try to see it as an opportunity to do more walks rather than just going crazy on goodies. I've already bought some ingredients to make Peppermint Crisp Tart over easter. Will be using Aero instead of the south african chocolate, but it'll be fine. Haven't made it, or had it, in two years.

I know that for me the key is tracking regardless of what's happening so if I stop tracking for some reason that will seriously hinder progress so I just need to keep meals routine and simple with my 80/20 ratio of healthy and 'not-so-much'. Although, that being said - I may also take a weekend off tracking here or there as a well-earned break if I'm doing ok.

We've had to cancel an 8 mile walk we'd planned to do on Sunday, but hopefully we'll get out for a quick walk in the park sometime over the weekend. It's been snowing steadily since about 8/9pm last night so looking quite pretty.

Hope you're all having a great start to March and enjoy your weekends!!! xxx

Thanks Anne! Yes, I'll make some adjustments as I go, but it's more sustainable to make increments of progress than to just stop focusing on things altogether. Hope you're having a lovely Friday! xxx

I agree, keep those calories as high as possible!! Going too low is never a good idea 👍🏻 in my opinion, which you didn’t ask for, but I thought I’d throw that out there ha ha. Enjoy Nikina. 🤗❤️

I think the thumbs up is because I said good idea, and it was automatic. I do not mean thumbs up to going low with calories.

Aah. Got you wifey! Yes, I think the higher calories the better for maintenance, but it will need some tweaking and adjusting when I get there. Hope you're having a lovely weekend!🤗💕

Slow and steady is my mantra, so I think you're wise to go for sustainable. Took me a year to lose 20 pounds at 1800 calories, but I never suffered or had to white knuckle it. So far, maintaining just under 130 for about 3 months. Fingers crossed, it'll continue, but I'll make adjustments if it doesn't. You are doing great! Keep it up, and Happy Sunday! 😃
