Been having trouble losing weight and being in starvation mode from too much dieting all the time for the past 40days. A plateau for 4 days. So at many friends advice Im taking some time off of it after losing around 43 pounds. Ate whatever I wanted last night, hot dogs, garlic bread, chips, candy, milk, but still did a 2400 calorie walk. Decided Im going to take a few days off working out and eat above maintenance for a bit to try to kick start my metabolism out of starvation mode.

1) Then research a good weight routine for myself and try strength training 3 times a week but doing light cardio in the same session, nothing too heavy or sweaty maybe 500 cals instead of 1000-1500 intense calories, enough to get the heart going and destress. Id just been doing cardio up to this point. Then a good muscle building workout on a set of muscles for a few sets for those days, alternating days to cardio 1000-1500.

2) On all days working out (at least 5 a week) up my protein intake pre and post workout to ensure Im getting enough, but not giving up on carbs and fat to meet other needs.

3) Getting lots of sleep and protecting it. 7-8hrs a night.

4)At least once every two weeks have a relaxed day where I gourge a little and eat at higher calorie level than normal.

Thanks guys.

I like that you are pausing to review what works and what doesn't. I made the mistake of relatively strict calorie intake, but needed more. Calories are important, but it's also a combination of everything else, and even quality of food matters. GREAT message.

it's good to stop and reevaluate your approach sometimes. the body is a funny machine 😏 sometimes you just gotta humor it.

Just love your focus, Thomas. I agree with those before me. Your body may need a little bit of a change before you resume weight loss. Keep the faith! I believe in you completely🤗😊

sounds like you are taking the right approach. set specific goals once you reevaluate, because you never know if you've reached a goal otherwise. 😊
