Way to go!

Thank you friends! where did the week go? I didn't get my hike in tonight, so we're going for an extended hike at the crack of dawn. For those that are following my saga regarding our local forest fires, we have now reached the status of having the largest forest fire in the US. I've been dodging closed road signs, hiking in bad smoky conditions, just so I can continue with some sort of exercise. We've had a few days of reprieve and have thoroughly enjoyed those days. But now the last of the 3 fires we have had has finally become the monster of all fires. The large fire/smoke plumes have been an awesome site to see, but they also transport hot flames and live ash for miles as it moves across the mountain tops, spreading the fire everywhere. Although I am not in imminent danger, many folks are. My husband and I care take a doctors summer home that's nestled in the mountains, in the most remote, secluded terrain, of course right at the center of the worst firestorm. We will have to see what the week end holds whether or not the home survives. I'll keep you updated when I can. Thanks again for your kind words, K.
