Nikina70's Journal, 17 Jun 22

Ok, so this is my new starting point and I'm good with that. On Monday I weighed a whopping 70.9kg, but clearly some of that was water so onwards and downwards.

This week I've walked every day as planned and daily calories have been good. I have about 2000 calories per day left for Saturday and Sunday so I just need to come in around there and I'll have my desired 1700 daily average. Wish me luck! It's been a challenge lately, but I am determined to do my best to see some results in the next 4 weeks. Summer is here and there are no excuses!

Another incentive is that my muffin top has developed into a full-on belly and I need it gone like yesterday! No bueno!

Annoyingly this morning I've skipped my planned workout because one of my clients let me know they'd be sending work through early - and now there's radio silence. I will try to do it either this evening or tomorrow, but it's crappy because it will mean working out with nice clean hair - so I might need to wash it again. Grrr!

Blue skies and 27 degrees here today so I'm looking forward to my walk to the cathedral at lunch time. It's a pianist performing today so should be good.

Hope you all have had a great week, and will have a fabulous Friday and weekend too! xxx

From my Pov walking will not make a great impact on your weight loss, what you need to do is to diet, I've lost 4.5kg just by dieting

Hi Nikina. Happy Saturday. I had a huge walk this morning after a beer last night in the heat. Was lovely & I’m glad I got some decent steps in before the rain came! 🥰 so nice to be outside & feeling active 🙌 can’t beat it 💗

fanap35788 - I walk because I am at my desk all day so I like to get out and breath some fresh air and I'm aiming for most days a week. I know it won't affect the scale much, but it's all about overall wellbeing and feeling fit and active for me. When I was overweight it was uncomfortable to walk for any length of time so now that I can do it comfortably I am not taking it for granted. I mention it on my journals for my own records so I can look back and see what I was up to or what was working whenever I feel like it. I must say that in the past I had a treadmill I used almost daily and I think that did assist my weight loss, but to each their own. I no longer believe in diets. I believe in making sustainable and consistent lifestyle changes to reach and then maintain a healthy weight. Mainly CICO. I have struggled in the past with the maintenance part, but I still don't think a diet in the traditional sense of the word would help me personally. I've been there, done that, and bounced back from them way too many times in the past. All the best on your next 4.5kg!

Fanap clearly didn't read that you are watching your calories. Being sedentary is a terrible thing so your walking is awesome. The fact that you are motivated when it is cold is admirable! ❤️

The beauty of Nikina is that her life does not evolve around arbitrary numbers like calories and weight. I love what she absorbs from her surroundings. The destinations of her walk are fascinating and she returns home with her heart full of poetry, music, and friendship. C’mon Nikina, tell us about the piano recital🎹

Thanks Petra! I ended up missing the concert at the cathedral because of work, but went for a walk earlier in the day instead. Will try and catch next week's one again. Hope you're having a great weekend too! xxx

Thanks DP! I think you might be thinking in Fahrenheit though? I meant degrees C so it was rather a summery hot day yesterday for England and I actually wore a summer dress for the first time this season. It's quite nice to be in the same hemisphere and season as a lot of my FS buddies now though (I still prefer the term buddies we had in the old days). :)

Aah, yfritz! I wish I could tell you about the recital! Instead one of my clients let me know that he'd be sending me work in the afternoon so I nipped out for a walk earlier in the morning and missed the concert. I hope it wasn't the best one of the season yet! Next week it will be violin and piano so I'm looking forward to that one and I'll tell more if I manage to go. Hope you're having a great weekend! xxx
