Packed for the Beach Trip today. All ready except jewelry, cosmetics & toiletries.

I gave the gardens a good watering in hopes it does OK for a few days. It's been so hot 🔥 🥵 I also sprayed deer repellant. I have lots of buds on the daylillies & I'm hoping to enjoy them after I get home. They're just starting to bloom each day.

We're taking my car to the Beach. My youngest sister usually drives but she was rear-ended a couple of weeks ago. She's been trying to get the insurance / repair sorted out. The repairs are finally scheduled for early July. The car is drivable, but they had to remove her muffler & the back hatch doesn't open. We talked about taking my other sister's car but she has a Mini 🚙 The luggage space is tiny. I finally decided the sensible choice was my car that is both comfy & has enough room for our "Stuff".

Hubby made me giggle yesterday. He was filling out some medical documents & he asked how long it had been since we cut back on our alcohol. I decided to not drink wine with dinner each night for a week & he joined me. The habit has stuck. We still have wine & the occasional beer or Hard Seltzer....usually when we're out. He said he thought it had been 6 months. LOL! I told him more like a month. I checked my logs & it's been 6 weeks. I guess it felt longer to him than it did to me 😂

Well...off to bed.

Lol that you both had different ideas of how long it's been. At least yours was closer to the truth. Travel safe and hope you all enjoy your beach time!🏖️☀️👍

When I was married (once upon a time) the DH & I used to split a bottle of wine with dinner each night. It certainly becomes a habit that is noticeable when you cut back (which occurred when I left him). We were very active when married, going to the gym and nightly walks during the week, then tent camping/canoeing/hiking/bike riding on the weekends, plus I had dance classes. The wine calories never budged the scale and I weighed 117 lbs. But without that level of activity, I can't drink like that now. 🙁 Do you feel a difference in your health since cutting back, Sherry? In this economy, I'm sure your wallet feels the change!

JB, I'd say the biggest benefit to not having wine with dinner is I save about 246 calories. I've been aiming for 1600 or less for the past 6 weeks & it is easier when I 'm not saving those calories for wine. I did lose weight before while regularly having wine. I maintained for 2 years, including it in my daily calorie count. It was as much habit as anything. Of course if we aren't buying wine for daily consumption we're saving some money💰💰😊
