I'm down another .5in in my waist!

I have been doing well on meeting my minigoals, so now I am officially adding CONSISTANT exercise to my routine. I need to start off smallish. I have decided to commit to 30 min of aerobic exericse everyother day. Yesterday, I walked the stairs for a 34 min. What a workout! I think I will alternate between walking the steps and doing HIIT work-outs on You Tube.

I hope to put Evie in daycare a couple days/week starting in Sept. Our local gym is running specials for mornings only membership. I intend to enroll and go to the gym after dripping Evie off. This will give me access to weights!!!! :)

Just a suggestion, but for the cost of that daycare and gym membership you can buy weights used from Craigslist and have them available 24/7. Of course that assumes you have a place to put them. I have a basement for that but not everybody does.

I haven't thought to measure myself until I read your entry. Good idea. I've been stuck on scale-watching so that might be a nice alternative. All the best with your exercise efforts.

The membership is a bit of a luxury, I'll admit. I'm usually more frugal. But the deal is good ~$17/mo for weekdays until 2 and all day on weekends/holidyas. But more importatntly, this plan has many purporses. My husband and I want to put our daughter in daycare 2-3 1/2 days/wk so that she has interaction with other children. Right now she has almost none. While I can certainly buy weights here, the gym offers the opportunity to get out of the house and to be around other people. It will also force me to speak more in Spanish. Right now, I can really only practice with the check-out attendents at the grocery store and the retirees who approach me to talk to my daughter. At home (in the states), we invested in weights and a treadmill (off craigslist) instead of paying for pricey gym memberships. I loved the convenience!!!! I've tried to make weights out of various containers and water, but they dont get heavy enough. If the gym membership doen't pan out for whatever reason, I think I'll try filling 1.5 liter waterbottles with pebbles.
