trying to stay focused. vicious cycle of not seeing much for results and then my eating well motivation waning, then of course no result on the scale, then more reason to not feel like eating well is working... rise and repeat.

i have not been tracking much lately, i really need to make more of an effort and get back on track. thankfully i have still been making mostly good choices and have maintained many of my healthy/low calorie changes (not cooking with oil, volume eating w tons of veggies, no beer, lower cal options from starbucks when I do get it occasionally, etc).

when i see 4-6lb increases and then drops like today it makes it really hard to see what's going on... when I saw 228 on the scale the other day i felt like giving up, then just a few days later, back at 223... ugh i wish it was more steady. and this wasn't even hormonal! i really need to get past this 222/223 hurdle and break past 220. my first goal is 200, it would still make me overweight by BMI standards but at my height and body type (viking blood so naturally more muscular/sturdy) i feel like i carry it pretty well and that puts me in a size 14 which i feel very good at. i dont think i've been at a normal BMI since I was like 20 (i'm 39 now)... 164 is the cut off for my height... of course i'd love to get there but it's too overwhelming for me to focus on that number at this point. i need to take it in smaller chunks.

i try to tell myself, at least i am making efforts still and haven't thrown in the towel completely - if i'd have done that, i could easily be 10, 20+ pounds heavier than my max weight. it's really hard to counteract WFH when i am not a gym goer... i am hoping to have an office to go to sometimes in the future, and maybe ride my bike there like i was doing before the pandemic. plus my hobby of social dancing was non-existant but starting back up lately, so hoping to be able to that more for fun/social time but also extra movement. my bf and i also started doing saturday zumba (it's so cute he tries to do it) and i will think about adding another zumba class per week as well. plus we bought spring ski passes so hoping for some snowboarding in the next few months as well. and also the pup gets longer walks as the weather gets nicer.
