Lisa Online's Journal, 11 Mar 11

This week flew by and I woke up early this Friday morning . The T.V. news anchors on our local channel sound urgent and sure enough it is unsettling news. Wow an 8.9 magnatude. Warning systems in place are very good regarding the Tsunami but it sounds as if things are very unstable in the area. Let's pray for stability and calm.

My upper arms and shoulders may experience limited range of motion later today or tomorrow but right now I am feeling slight stiffness in these areas from the effects of BodyPump. I am looking forward to trying this again on Sunday.

I will run with the kids in the morning. Mary is feeling much better but we still have a doctor appointment on the 17th to talk about her tailbone injury and her knee popping troubles. (perhaps they will give her some exercises?) The hard thing for Mary right now is there are a few "mean girl" bullies in her classroom who have been verbally taunting her for too long. Mary appears confident on the outside but is tearing herself apart on the inside.

Before she goes on camping trip for 5 full days with this 6th grade class this needs to be addressed. I have a lunch meeting with the teacher today to resolve these issues (Sigh). Thanks for stopping by this morning:) Lots of laundry and housework. This will be a productive day!

Change my mind, change my schedule, change my routine, change my body, change my life:)TOWANDA!!!!!!!!

Lisa, I hope you get this before your meeting with the teacher today. While talking to the teacher please stress that they do not just confront these girls and say "so and so is upset and blah blah blah" that WILL make everything worse. Coming from someone who was bullied from grade 4 - 12 I completely get what is happening to Mary, and please give her a hug from me and tell her that things really do get 100 times better. Words hurt and they do for a very long time (I have been away from the bullies for 11 years and still have my days where their voice over takes my inner voice) but she is not alone, and I really feel bad for her. Let her know that when everything is said and done she WILL be the better person, even if it is hard to imagine right now. Things like this really break my heart.

Kids can be so cruel. I will never for the life of me understand what motivates them to behave in such a fashion. I am so very sorry that Mary has to go through this. You will help her to understand...I know you will...We just hate to see our kids go through this.. Have a great run tomorrow and glad you enjoyed the body pump..

Thanks everyone I appreciate your concern. It broke my heart when Mary came home terrified crying, saying that she doesn't have any friends and couldn't possibly go to the 6th grade trip. The girls were taunting Mary with mean things like, "the only reason you were invited to my birthday party is because my mom invited you". The teacher was very cooperative and is going to take the queen bee down a peg or two but without letting her know Mary is the one who finally broke down and told how she has been teased and is constantly being picked on with hurtful words and having an entourage of girls act the same hurtful way towards Mary. Mary tends not to follow trends and is being persecuted for her non-conforming ways and non adoring yes man compliance this queen bee is striving for. She prefers not to wear skinny pants etc. I am glad I finally addressed this situation and realize I should have done something long before. Mary will get an appt with the school counselor to learn some tools to better handle confrontation so she doesn't make herself sick by internalizing things. Mary seems to be relieved after our meeting this afternoon. I'll keep you posted:) TOWANDA!!!

Lisa, good for you!! I was always the one being picked on. I was too________fill in the blank. I wore dresses and skirts and they wore jeans....they were all kids that had always gone to school together, and I moved there in the 8th grade from a military background, and said things like "yes ma'am, no ma'am, yes sir, no sir" and they routinely didn't even answer. I just took it until the day they started picking on a girl that was mentally and physically challenged. I always let her sit with me on the bus, and they picked on me all the time. One day they decided it would be more fun to steal her school work and laugh at her. I told them to stop, they said make me, so when we got off the bus I punched the lead A**HOLE (a guy) right in the nose and gave him a nose bleed. He started crying and I told them all that if they did it again, I'd do the same to them. I felt like George McFly when he punched Biff in Back To The Future. lol Drastic, but it worked. They still teased me a bit, but they never picked on that poor little girl again. She always sat by me from then on, and told me I was her "friend". Sweet little thing! Hope you guys are all safe formt he tsumanis and know that I am praying!

Good morning lisa! Mary is so blessed to have a mom like you! Glad you liked Bodypump. You're going in Sunday again. So, are you planning to do bodypump class twice a week or three times? That really will make you toned, btw. Happy Saturday!:)

Hi Lisa. It breaks my heart to hear your daughter is being bullied by these mean girls. Although my kids' schools claimed to have a zero tolerance policy regarding bullying, it was still done all the time. I hope you get this addressed and definitely before your daughter has to spend that much time around them. And you may think about some counseling for her, as well. Give her tools to use to combat the bullying and young girls, especially, can suffer LONG term emotional issues from being bullied. Please keep us posted on that.

And STEF... hahahaha... I think I'll just call you Superwoman from now on. There is NOTHING you can't handle! Or... well, maybe I'll just call you McFly. That's cute and catchy.
