alihikes's Journal, 25 Jul 21

I've been sick with a bad cold/cough (asthma) during the past week. So I have not been hiking or exercising. Even though I am vaccinated, I saw a doctor and got a COVID test just to make sure I did not have one of the breakthrough cases. (I called and was prescreened and the COVID test was the clinic's recommendation). No COVID, but he adjusted my asthma medication.

I am gradually getting better, but the asthma flare up isn't much fun.

I made lots of healthy soups while I was sick. (Won ton soup, dal, chicken posole, and chicken cacciatore). I ran out of fresh vegetables and fruits, but it was an opportunity to use some of the items in my freezer.

All things considered I am grateful to have lost a pound.

soups sound delicious. Being sick is a hard way to lose, but I'll take anything. I'm glad you went to the doctor, and hope you feel better soon.

Good job on the weight loss! Do you ever take prednisone for the asthma if the meds aren't enough? That has always been a life saver for me.
