Sooo stressed. We went to our public schools open house for kindergarten for my son. We checked out 2 schools. One is our designated school and the other is on my way to work. The one we have to sign up to (should we chose to go thru the public system) is huge and I do not like it at all. It has over 600 kids in the school with 95 kids in the junior and senior kindergarten program. The other school is much smaller, about 260 kids in total and 48 kids in the SK and JK program. So, we would sign our son up there. And we are responsible for getting him to and from school. No big deal right? Not. Because a couple of weeks ago we checked out a private christian school. Small, very clean and focused on education in the schoool. Big price tag though. We can afford it but will it be right for my son?? Lots of thinking!! My husband is fine with starting out at small public school and then if things are not working out, looking at switching to the private school. But what if my son doesn't adjust to the move. I would like to start out at 1 school and stay there. Sigh!!!

No change on scale...still eating birthday cake!!! I know, I should pitch it but the hubby put so much effort into it that I can't do that!! We pitched other leftovers from the party though. And I brought the cheezies to work for my coworkers.

Plan today is eat better! My calorie intake so far this month is at a whooping 1800 calories! I need to get down to 1600! I need to lose the last 6.5 lbs!!

Thanks for the vent!!!

My advice would be to look at the differences in curriculum before deciding between the christian private school and the smaller public school. This is a decision that will make a difference for life. This will be shaping his mind at one of the most vulnerable stages in life. Also look and see if they have any funding to help pay for the private school bassed off income. I know those are some of the things we looked at when considering our children's education. The only reason we didn't do the christian private school is it is 30 minutes away so one of us would have to drive them back and forth which would really reduce the amount of quality home time we would get to spend with them.

Good luck finding the right solution for your family. Just remember to breath and that 1600 mark will be yours and those 6.5 lbs will be history.

It's hard to make decisions on schools. Where we live it's not probably as big. There were 75 kids total in the Kindergarten class when my son started school and kids are always coming and going, but the individual class sizes were about 20 kids, so not too bad. Kids adjust pretty quickly, it's scary to think of them going to a school with more kids, but when that's all they know they don't know the difference. I agree with Iama, look at the curriculum if you're stuck on a decision, maybe that will help. There is only 1 private school here and the price tag is huge, and from the kids I've seen that come from that school they aren't doing anything better than the public school system. If you know anyone from the schools ask them their opinions too, you may get some good info. Good luck!

Lots of decisions Aggie, but go with your gut instinct and I'm sure you will make the right decisions. Hope you have a fantastic weekend and can relax :)
