ALLOW BECAUSE YOU LOVE IT and then go back to your normal routine the very next day OR moment. It is easier when we are easier on ourself by embracing our choices and not stressing or beating ourself up. Yes it is possible to have our cake and eat it too. I just read a very interesting medical journal article about desserts. The article (excerpted from The New England Journal of Medicine along with some French doctors who were studying why certain ethnic groups can eat so-called 'bad' foods yet are very healthy as a society) basically said this:

Scientist/doctors are now concluding that denying oneself that dessert (bowl of ice cream), can actually cause more harm than indulging in it.

It explained that whenever there is a desire for dessert or other treat that is stifled or denied, that the internal chemical reaction of not accepting (denying) the enjoyment releases detrimental toxins, similar to those caused by stress, frustration, and fear, etc.

Studies showed that these chemicals have long term cumulative affect that can be correlated to heart disease, among other maladies.

...Again, very similar to how stress and anger can manifest in dis-ease...

The conclusion was that by allowing oneself to have and enjoy the dessert, even though it may include extra calories, was likely better for your health than to constantly deny yourself (which leads to this chemical release that is worse than the extra calories from sugar or fat).

Great news! Enjoy that ice cream and feel those endorphins with love. :)"

I totally agree. I eat within my calories but I do not deny myself some treats. I have them everyday. If I didn't I probably wouldn't have stayed on this journey so long because Lisa I love to eat...I love food..

Hi Lisa, Very interesting about the bowl of ice cream. I would be interested in the actual article if you can find it. No pressing need though. Have a great day! :-)

Information I will get the actual article this evening or at least I think I can lol. I thought about you because you dance so well upon the blue line and Ben and Jerry's has helped you keep that balance! I knew it was true by your example and my practices over this past year but just love seeing a scientific report that backs it up lol. TOWANDA!!!!!!

Lisa I do believe in this very much and its one reason why I never deny myself that dessert and in fact I will eat it until I don't want it any further... I do believe that the energy you put forth towards looking at food manifests within your body be it positive or negative. A few other papers like this have been floating about... Will have to dig them out.

Intriguing hummm Deep Fried Oreoes are to die for!! LOL... but I am going to play the devils advocate. If it is OK to eat those "bad" foods then afterwards when they see and feel the results it can cause them stress, frustration, and fear, etc.... the vicious cycle continues!
