Another loss! I still snacked, though. I have noticed that when my snacking is something like a fat bomb -- a chocolate fudge square, or a small cup of low-carb white chocolate fudge -- I don't gain as much as when I snack on nuts and low-carb cookies and cakes. The plan is to eventually lay off snacking altogether, but knowing myself, this will take a while.

My blood pressure is still not getting any better. On Sunday and Monday, my measurements were in the normal range, but on Tuesday my systolic rose up to the mid-130s in the morning and has remained there for most of the week. I can literally feel my blood pressure rising before taking it in the mornings. I don't get it. Last year in March and April, my blood pressure would go up for a day or two, then get back down to normal. I don't want to increase my dose of ARB that I got lowered back in September because my eyelids will swell up again and it gets both annoying and slightly painful to remove lashes that fall in my eyes (happens to me often) or to undergo an eye exam. But if a doctor requests an increase of my dose of ARB, then so be it. At least my dose of CCB is already at its maximum.

I am still hopeful for a vaccine someday. In Quebec, the government started offering AstraZeneca shots to anyone aged 55 or older who wants one without an appointment. There have been major line-ups and disappointed people told to come back the next day. Essential workers have started getting their shot, but in Montreal only. People with medical conditions under 55 (like me) were supposed to be able to get a shot starting next Monday, but 1. this is for Montreal only, and 2. only those who are hospitalized, or 3. those who consistently have to go to the hospital for appointments. None of these 3 criteria apply to me, so I guess I will have to wait for my shot along with the healthy under-55 population. More vaccines are coming in Canada, but not that much. I need to be patient. When it's my turn, I hope I will be able to get an appointment and won't be stuck playing the waiting game and waste my time, because summer is a really busy time at work for me!

Again, a sunny day this morning! I hope it stays this way this afternoon!
