drinkwaterx4's Journal, 18 Dec 13

Had a great day yesterday. 18C (65F) sunny so left work at 2pm and ran home - 8 miles on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Planning a 30 mile run on Saturday, my first attempt at an ultra distance, will be running with 10 others. It's getting really hard to lose weight now. The charts say I should be able to reach 170 but likely going to take me six months to get there. I'm really fascinated at how the body retains water and waste. I've been monitoring my weight around my running and going to the loo and weight fluctuates anywhere from 2 to 4 lbs. My calorie intake is way below my output but not losing at the 3500 calories equals a pound down ratio. It looks like when your body fat gets down around 15% the ratio changes. I'm determined now to try for 170. The difference in my running is amazing, yesterday for the first time I felt like I did when I was 18 and could run forever. At 56 I'm thankful I rediscovered running and path to longevity!
