DP, do you do the phases like bulk, cut etc? I’ve never done a ‘phase.’ All I’ve ever done is try to get the scale to be less while I try to build muscle and burn fat. What phase is that? lol I’m thinking to ‘try’ a more structured phase in the New Year. Anyone with advice? Sorry, I should put this on my own page. 🙃

Wifey- I am never trying to do anything but lose weight. When I end up overeating and still going to the gym- I think stuff like- well- maybe I can put on some muscle- but ultimately losing weight and maintaining muscle will be my goal. I don't know what David does. I think when he feels like eating a lot, he says he is bulking- which I guess could be true because he is- unsure if that's really his goal at the time or if he is making the most of the abundance of calories. I am definitely not one to ask about this kinda stuff- but maybe someone else can respond.

Chris- I think we were supposed to meet at 175 last January- you were to be all muscle and I would be all fat loss. 🤷🏻‍♀️😆💪🏻

I always figured Bulking Up was a PR move to spin "I just ate through a freezer full of Ben & Jerry's and now I have a lot of volume/fat covering up my muscles." I'm waiting till I'm much closer to my final goal weight before I start pumping iron, because otherwise my muscles just push out all the fat, and I look huge, not svelte.

@justBananas I think it depends on your type of body. I gain fat and muscle really easily. The first time I went through Patry Jordan's body weight program at home, my arms got bigger without losing any fat. They're still big for me, and I had to give away so many clothes because my arms just can't fit the sleeves. I know for other people their arms get slimmer and toner when they lift weights or do bodyweight work but not for me sadly. Right now for the first time in my life I'm just doing cardio. But I have such a high protein diet that it's already building muscle in my legs.

Awesome drop DP!!! I don't know alot about cutting up but I recall some people taking diuretics to get ready for a competition. Sadly one gal lost a muscle in her lower leg because of it. So, alot of it is getting rid of excess water but I think you have to really know what you're doing. Also, I think they eat less carbs in the cutting phase and eat alot more carbs in the bulking phase.

Princess: saw your recent post with transformation pictures, and my thighs will never look as good as yours. I think my body type is the reverse. My arms look cut even by doing nothing, but my lower half looks like it melted, no matter how much running I do. 😥 Gravity is the evil force at work there -- fat answers the pull.

JustBananas- When people say anything kind about my thighs, it is a bit surprising to me- but they must look better than I think to others. I don't run. I only lift weights. (I did try to run but I think I have asthma- but that's for another day) All my leg strength is due to leg press, curls, extensions, RDL, etc... all weights.
