Good morning!

I'm so pleased that my dumb injury is on the mend! The wonky ankle was actually a product of degenerative disk disease in my L4-L5, but if I can strengthen my core (seriously bad after 2 c-sections and a dramatic appendectomy between the two), I'll be able to avoid a repeat. My physiotherapist has me doing exercises to keep my core 'organized,' so I"m hopeful that it'll be better than it ever has been before for maybe the rest of my life?

Another thing I noticed over the past few weeks of blegh is that the skin on my lower belly seems to be more snug than it has been since I lost the first big chunk of weight (I have lost the same 25lbs over and over again but the skin never recovers). Maybe this time "off" is time it needed to recover some elasticity? The photo below was taken on my due date for my now-14yo son. All that belly just sort of collapsed, and I'd love to think that it's recovering some elasticity. There's not much I can do to help it along save eat a healthy diet and keep at it, but if just maintaining the weight I'm at now is helping that to happen, well, that's definitely a win.

Today should be a good day - I'll be going for a walk with my older son, and doing some baking (banana something), and enjoying the relief of not having to think about any more political advertisements for a while!
