seb.63's Journal, 02 Nov 20

I've actually lost 300g this week but up until now I always worked to the nearest kg. I reached my goal of 73 kg last week and have eased off a little just this week. but I plan to try and stay 1 or 2 kilos below target so I have some wiggle room. I'm finding the app and support from others really helpful, it's great to read other people's journeys and ideas, that way you don't feel so alone. Love to see some funny comments too and my egg salad will always be known as car crash salad from now on. I must admit food presentation has never been a skill of mine. Good luck everyone and thanks for all the support.

Thanks for your comment AVirco, now comes the tricky but, trying to maintain it. I've been a yo-yo dieter in the past, that's what I need to break and I haven't found the answer yet. If anyone knows the answer please share 😁

Thanks JanusWoman, I've been trying to really focus on BMI as a guy over 50 with coronavirus circulating. Now it's a focus on avoiding yo-yoing, as you know not easy. But we'll get there 👍

Well done Seb.63’!!! Have you lost weight with a Keto diet based on 800 kcal per day? I am following my personal diet (not keto) with low carbs, 1200 kcal per day and 4/5 workouts per week. I am not completely happy about the results, the process seem too slow....do you have any suggestions? 😊

Hi simorepublic, I have used Michael Mosely semi keto diet, veggy style, with recipes and ideas I found on the internet. His programme Lose a stone in a month kick started it for me. I've not tried to go real keto strict, it's not so easy to quickly understand all this carbs, net carbs etc. So I just tried to keep total carbs down, ideally 40g or less, calories at around 800, protein high (I find protein drink quite a treat). But it has put me in keto the first few weeks, I checked it with some urine test strips my wife had! I try to exercise 4 or 5 times week and all this has worked for me, use Fitbit linked to fatsecret which can be fun, you see what goes in and what you burn 😁 At the end of the day it's finding the combination that works for you. I do miss bread though. The other annoying thing is that the more weight you lose, the less calories you burn. Good luck!
