59Carol's Journal, 26 Sep 20

I am down a full 2 pounds this week! I did eat at a lower calorie rate of an average of 1175 calories a day however that wasn't a planned thing. I just didn't much eat more than the base plan. I plan to move this up a bit to around 1200 calories per day.

This is the end of the month as far as weigh-ins go. I have lost weight all 4 weeks this month which is wonderful and consistent. For the month I am down 4.6 pounds which is an amount I feel is sustainable. Last month I lost 4.4 pounds. I like this consistency. Since I have switched to the mostly plant based eating plan with the suggestions from the "How Not To Diet" book I have been logging in consistent losses.

I have had a busy and productive week. Mostly sorting my garage and outbuildings, attending Women Shelter meetings and getting special things like dying my eye brows! I have my grandkids this morning so I will enjoy my time with them. Later this morning I will go for a lovely walk with my sister.
83.6 kg Lost so far: 38.1 kg.    Still to go: 6.5 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Sounds like you are really working the plan. Grandkids are fun but tiring sometimes. keep up the consistancy. You are doing what I want to do. 🙏😷🤗

Thanks Carol. I believe in steady sustainable progress - whether it is weight loss or exercise. I don't believe it has to hurt to be good! I think if it hurts then stop.... So I make sure it doesn't hurt so I don't stop. My grandkids are getting older - 12 and 15 - so a different kind of exhausting. I love their sense of humours. You can do this, too, Carol!

You are doing so well Carol. I have read the book "How Not To Diet" as well and love the ideas and suggestions. Just need to put more of them into practice. Congrats to you on your losses.

wow. and great plan. sustainable is so good. we all love the big drops. but in my experience I can't maintain the big ones. it's the chipping away. seems to allow time for my stubborn brain to adjust.

Janetmay have you used the app from the How Not To Diet? It is free. It is a checklist of his suggestions that you can check off each day. I find it helpful. It has helped me to keep in mind everything he has suggested. I am just not willing to sleep in the head down position but everything else I am trying to incorporate. 20 minute meals is a challenge especially at breakfast!

One Point 0 - I have great suspicion of the big drops because they so often are followed by big gains! I would say brain and body needs adjusting to the new normal. I have come a long way for both brain and body to accept what a true appropriate portion is! Good luck on your journey.

I am going to check out the app. As I am getting disgusted with my " no results " these past monthss.

I have found the app helpful. I find calories still matter but I can eat a bit more than I was for the same or better results.
