59Carol's Journal, 22 Aug 20

Today is the two-year mark since I began this particular weight loss journey. I have kept weekly records of my calories and weight loss for the past 108 weeks. The records have been invaluable to me as I picked out my patterns and what was really happening versus what I thought was happening. It has really kept me honest. As of today, I have lost 81.1 pounds. The first 52 weeks I lost 60 pounds and the last 52 weeks was 21 pounds. I am satisfied with averaging 40 pounds a year. Looking ahead, I have 20 pounds more to lose to get to 170 pounds before I assess where I am at and whether I wish to lose more. At 160 I will leave the overweight BMI and enter into the 'normal' so that may be a goal. Presently I cannot see going below 140. All of those decisions are down the road so for now I will focus on the next 20 pounds.

I am logging in a 0.4 gain from last week however I logged a 3.4 loss last week and so the small gain is not unexpected. It is a common pattern for me to log a modest gain after a substantial loss. All week long I was in the 190s so to be in the 180s on weigh-in day is a real win for me!

I continued to eat more calories than the usual 1200 calories - I averaged 1295 calories a day - following my new eating plan. As the weight went as high as a 2.2-pound gain, it was hard to stay steady. In the end, it worked out. Judging from this week, I will be aiming to eat around 1300 calories or less while getting in all the recommended foods. It is somewhat of a challenge but do-able with careful planning.

This week I had painters come to paint my barn. When I was a child our barn was this colour so it has nostalgic value to me! I also had them paint this outbuilding as well. I tried posting pictures but the program won’t load them.

My husband’s Lincoln is now roadworthy and available for sale. I am going to post it tomorrow, I think. And my farm truck no longer leaks radiator fluid and is good to go for the next year!
