Sandy701's Journal, 15 Nov 10

Walked 3.3 miles this morning. Just a few sprinkles, but it's supposed to let loose later today. Doggies were along for 2.6 miles, enjoying the weather. Tomorrow will probably be my delayed day off.

Dropped back to my 50-pound mark. We'll see if I can make it stick for more than 1 day this time. I wish I could point to a specific thing that pushed me back down in the 185's, but I can't. We'll see how the next few weeks go, as the last few have been at a snail's pace!

I hear ya on the snail's pace. I think that my body feels the impending cold weather and is readying itself for hibernation, like a big ol' black bear!! Arghhh, honestly, what the heck? I have always suspected that our bodies hold more weight heading into the winter months, in anticipation for needing the extra insulation, not aware that we no longer require that. Hope that your 185 holds (or drops below), and congrats, once again, on that 50 pound mark!!!! It is awesome. I hit the 70 pound mark and then guess what, it slipped away for a few days...now it is back and seems determined to stay!! (throws hands into the air) Ahhh, ain't the weight loss journey grand??? lol Have a great day, Sandy!!

The hibernation thing actually makes sense, as odd as it might sound. As far as I can remember, I don't think I've ever lost substantial weight in the fall or early winter. Or maybe I just never embarked on a diet at that time of year, I don't know. Of course, like most, I made various New Year's resolutions and actually did fine at that time of the year even though it was in the Midwest and always the coldest in January/February. Congrat's on getting back to your 70-pound mark; that's a great testimony to your determination. 70 Pounds....wow! You have a good day too and hopefully you're feeling better today.

sandy i would kill to be able to say 50 lol! and i think it is a possibality on hiebernating! but i am also wondering if it is a decrease in water that i am drinking? i noticed that i wasn't drinking as much now that it is getting cold so i started tracking my water again today...

Water does make a big difference and I too have been drinking less since it got cooler. I think it does make a difference in that if you drink less, you body is more likely to retain what you do have to stay hydrated, whether you need it or not... thus the gain.

Sandy, hang in there You can do it and I know you will. It may be coming off at a snails pace, but it is coming off. You have accomplished so much and I am so proud of you. Please enjoy the rest of today and live each and every moment like it's the last.:)

Thanks for the encouragement, Laurie. And, a special thanks too for even reading my journal considering the day you've had! Laura...Barbie is right about the water. I realized I wasn't drinking enough water earlier in the week so I made it a point to focus on it. Did that help me drop back to 185? Maybe....
